Is there a way of calculating the beta of a stock without having multiple data. I know how to calculate it the traditional way but was wondering if there was a quick and dirty formula that is used when you do not have all the data to hand. I was experimenting with the 52 week High/Low but to no avail.

Thanks

Thanks for your interest in the thread.

When i say Multiple data i mean daily/weekly or monthy price changes for the stock and the index your correlating with. For instance you can work out using two price inputs what the volatility is of a stock without having to standard deviate price changes.

If you don't have the data you can't extract any numbers or formulas from it.
