Hi there,

Just would like some help identifying a decent real time feed suited for scalping (US, UK stocks mainly).

I looked at Esignal but having read some mixed reviews it makes me a bit dubious.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Mike,

I would be interested in the response too..esp. for the Hang Seng futures as I am conducting a study at the moment and need reliable intraday to backtest a strategy..

Thanks
Leonie

Thanks for the replies. I will check out IQfeed and see what they can offer. I would be interested to compare and contrast the exchange fees and overall cost of service against say, Esignal.

exchange fee's are typically passed on "as is", since these are levied by the exchange. from what I recall, IQfeed are a fair bit cheaper than esignal for the service fee.

Thanks Arbitrageur :)

IQfeed has some interesting links to exchanges, and a platform that could link to my broker and other exchanges for the Hang Seng. The HSI futures plus all the historical isn't supported anymore and was removed from my broker's platform which was a real pain as I was right in the middle of testing and I am finding it hard to pull up charts plus the intraday data underneath using another service!

Its the preberviable "run around" bigtime and so frustrating!!

IQ Feed support is not good....they rarely answer questions and never in a timely manner.

Reliability of the feed is questionable as, over the course of the trading day it does not provide continuous consistent data.

Not for me anyway but I am not sure whether this is a fault in their service or a problem at my end...my computer, internet connection etc. etc.

In fact I have just this minute fired off an email to IQ Feed to cancel my subscription.

Not satisfied since I have today determined that it is the feed quality that is giving me problems and not anything at my end.

My experience of IQ was very different as I found them to be reliable with good quality data. There were a couple of issues over the 4 or so years that I used them but not anything that was major. I only stopped using them because I switched to currency trading and IB is good enough for that.

I am now feeding IB stock data into Quote Tracker and it is working beautifully.

I found IQ Feed to be very erratic...stop, start, stop.........

This being the case, I might as well get an account with IB and use their real time feed via quote tracker (rather than get a separate data feed via the likes of IQ or Esignal). IB seem quite reputable and having scoured the forums seem to be suited for scalping too (i.e. low comms).

At the end of the day, I just want to keep the overheads as low as practically possible.

Both Quote Tracker support and IQ Feed support will tell you that the IQ Feed data feed is of a very high quality.

Paul ( Trader 333 ) also complimented it above.

My experience is not good but I am just one lone user. Maybe you should go to QT Forum or somewhere like that to get further opinions on IQ Feed.

I would be interested to hear the results.

Hi I use Esignal i have been using them for a few years I was using trade station but they only support the US If you go to esignal's site they do free seminars about their product and webinars so you can get a feel. In addition you could try updata its free for the first 30 days i think end of day I dont like sharescope for real time but is a good EOD back up
