I read on bigmiketrading that when scalping CL futures, you are less likely to trade profitably with one contract than if you were to trade with 3 or more contracts. Can anyone confirm if this is true, and if it is, what is the reason for it. I can only assume that it has something to do with the nature of the CL market which is very illiquid and fast-moving.

It just depends on the way you trade for scapling you usually do not pile up, for instance you will close one contract at 2/3 ticks so to pay for comms and then you will keep the rest for the the move up to the target. You need to find the number of contracts you feel comfortable with. And in an illiquid market you need to trade with a smallor size not viceversa
