Historical Data Brent Crude

Hello all,

I am in the process of writing a disseration on Oil Pricing and am on the look out for historical data that I can use to conduct my research on. Unfortunately my university has no subscription to historical data sources for crude oil spot data nor futures.

Hence, I am currently looking for historical data on brent crude (spot and futures). Does anyone know of a reliable data source that is available for a good price? The ICE sadly asks for an amount that my university is not willing to refund.

If you should be looking for a good and reasonably priced source for historical spot and futures data on the WTI you should visit Norman's Historical Data.

You can get daily historic spot prices here, can't vouch for it's accuracy though...

hello brentfutures,
I am having the same issue on obtaining monthly or daily historical brent crude futures prices for my Msc Dissertation here in the UK. I was wondering if you could help me with this or point me to any direction where i can easily obtain this. My university will not support me in anyway to obtain a free copy of this.

I would appreciate if you can advise me on this.

I will like the range from M1:1984 till date (i.e. latest available date in 2007).

BTW, i believe brent crude futures began trading circa 1987...if so, i still wont mind having the earliest date in 1987 till date.

HI aadejumo,

found my dataset from last year's dissertation. However, the sample period ends on the 27th of June 2006.

If you still need it let me know via a pm... need WTI as well?

How about Spot rates?

Do you still have that data set for Brent Futures from 1987 on? I'm in the same situation trying to access historical price data for Brent Futures for a dissertation.
