Members,

I am a newbie in trading. Iwould like to know your view in dealing crude oil.

Thanks

supply and demand. Rapidly growing demand from China and India, the growth in use in the west, supply unable to grow in line with demand - along with rumours of Saudi pumping increasing quantities of water along with the oil... all fundamentals that would indicate the trend is going to stay UP for the forseeable future.

If your new to trading Oil I would suggest trading NY/Brent spreads or calander spreads to limit your risks as the volatility in Oil is huge since the hedge funds have falling in love with it. As for direction I would say it will continue to trend up as we head into the winter although when looking at supply/demand make sure you understand whats behind this. There is plenty of oil in the world the supply constraints come in the form of refining capacity and to a smaller extent pumping capacity. So far the market claims there is no spare refining capacity but they are currently being proved wrong, this winter will be make or break time for the refiners. Also keep a close eye on countries GDP growth and growth forecasts.

It is also worth considering the effects of the US hurricane season on crude production and transport and refinery activity in the Gulf of Mexico if you are interested in daily moves...

Oh I forgot, the hurricanes move Brent as well as WTI as both move together most of the times!

Hi...,

I'm looking for EOD prices (last 3-4 months) for US light crude and Brent, can anyone suggest where I can get the information. Also any website that I can put both the products onto one chart.

Thanks.
