Hi!

I'm currenly looking into opening an account with Alpari. Currently trading with demo and their "virtual reality" contest accounts. I've tried FXCM micro and MT4 (demo) before but they were no good.

Anyone traded with their classic, classic ndd and/or pro accounts? I'm especially interested in the difference between their demo/contest and classic in scalping context and their NDD vs "instant" execution.

Should I even bother opening a non-ndd account with them? Seems that Alpari UK don't provide the classic ndd account so that would have to be with Alpari US.

Thanks!

What was "no good" about FXCM? I use MT4 with Alpari quite a bit and don't have any complaints.

FXCM has been a bit of a mess for me. For example, even though I used FIX protocol (through Order2Go) with boundaries on slippage their system ignored this and continuously ran orders that where outside the boundaries. Alpari demo and contest accounts has been great so far.

May I ask if you use an account with "instant", ndd or ecn execution? I'm especially interested in the difference between these. A pro account is too much for me so it is either an instant or ndd.

Read the terms of business. The demo alpari account uses the Pro account feed so if you were looking to go onto a micro or classic account with them first like myself you might be dissapointed.

What put me off in particular is they only allow you to open and close trades on pairs when their sessions are open for the micro's.

I'm aware of demo=pro but virtual reality contest seems to equal classic account feeds. Of course, demo give extra good results as it equals pro spreads with no commission :)

Looks like preferential treatment for 'Russian' customers by this broker which originated from Russia a few years ago. Unless we are also allowed to open accounts at alpari.ru from abroad.
