Just trying to get an idea of what you guys think is the best platform for the price. I know DTN ProphetX is most likely the largest but I have not had good luck with them.

I currently use QT Plus from QT Information Systems and have found that to be suitable to my needs but am just seeing what else is out there.

Thanks

Depending on what you're looking for in a platform, I'd suggest using ThinkOrSwim or Ninja trader for charting and analytics and using a top quality broker for execution. Do you trade directly off the DOM or how do you enter trades? I personally use Interactive Brokers, but Infinity Futures has great commissions (negotiable depending on your trading freq & size) and better execution. You can also try PFG Best as a broker. They're pretty big and been around.

I actually clear my trades through Linn Group and have gotten very good service there. I don't really trade high frequency mostly just 5 and 10 lots a couple times a week. But they have got from what I have seen and heard, some of the best agriculture guys in the business. They were actually the ones who referred me to QT Information Systems. If you need anything there my sales guy is Matt.

Thanks for the info. I'll give Matt a ring sometime and see what they offer.

anyone else? anything at all? There have been 150 views just take 2 seconds and write something down.

I am just trialling the StrategyRunner via ODL Markets.....always used a SB platform up until now but am considering my options for switching to DMA. Platform looks quite good so far with some nice features - probably going to try try a few others as well such as the one from PFGBest.

Hi main,
Welcome to T2W.
I'm in the same boat as you, but have the added complication of needing a platform that has Point & Figure charts. The most common platforms typically offered by most brokers are:
CQG Trader
QST
J-Trader
Turbo Trader2
Strategy Runner
NinjaTrader
X_TRADER (seems to be the best regarded and by far the most expensive)
Not all of the above offer charting packages and only NinjaTrader offer P&F and they've only recently introduced it and there's a question mark about how they calculate and plot data.
Tim.

Yeah I was just looking up QST and it is similar to my QT Plus. I asked my salesman and he said it is similar but doesn't have news, weather, or futuresline radio that I get with mine.

CQG was just so unbelievably expensive. Unless yourmaking over 10k/mo trading I can't see the justification.

And- timsk- I get P&F charts because I use them all the time

When I looked into it a year or two back ODL's comms were about the rate you can get elsewhere.

FOREX is fine but what im looking for are commodities traded on CBOT NYMEX COMEX CME ICE LME. I have always traded commodities but have such a tough time finding others online who do.

Been a while since I have posted here so just saying I tried out CQG again on a trial and still cannot figure out all the options available
