Can't place limit orders where I like?

I'm playing around with Meta trader with Broco. I was trying to place a sell limit order very close to the current price, but it wouldn't let me, saying invalid parameters. So I pressed the button to sell the market, and it gave me a fill 10 cents worse than the price.

I'm only on the demo, so it doesn't matter so much, but why would they restrict where users can place their limit orders?

In a proper market (e.g. Eurex, LIFFE), you can place limit orders way down in the depth. So I don't know why bucket shops restrict them.

So that they can profit from controlling your behaviour. :)

They might be able to control me. But I really want to go round to their office and smash it up. Fortunately I have self control. What happens when they do this to someone who has no self control?

when they do this to someone with no self control that person usually starts by punching the screen, then a door or wall then the misses......but i did once see a trader punch himself in the face.:LOL::LOL:
