Anybody else have a problem with IG, and their FTSE prices, at around 4.30pm today?
Turns out that the stock exchange had forgotten to semaphore the closing price to them, and hence, positions couldn't be closed out online.
Why can't they use the same , good old fashioned, never-lets-you-down, closing price as everybody else does.........................?
Answers on the back of a postcard, please, to:

And yes, I lost money.
And yes, I live in the middle of nowhere(no mobile signal), and, my landline is down too!

Hi bud,

Unfortunately there will always be occassional problems where ever you go and whoever you trade with, here are some alternatives to consider that will help you in the future:

If your landline is down: Have a satelite phone or phone through your internet, buy a mic and you can talk through your computer to whoever you wish just like a normal telephone can.

Have at least 2 full working PC's in case one breaks down or a cup of coffee flies on one.

Always set stops.

and most of all:

Accept that from time to time problems will occur, most of them you can prevent, deter or conquer if you know the problem can happen, remember, if it can happen, it probably will so prepare yourself for the worst case scenario.

Thanks for that-I've calmed down now!
Any idea what the difference is between the FTSE closing price(quoted on the news/radio etc), and the later FTSE 'settlement' price?
Confuses the hell out of me.
