Uk Trader of Nasdaq Stocks

Anyone recommend a suitable broker for trading Nasdaq stocks from the UK? IB seem to be the most likely candidate at the moment. Also can those in the know give me a quick run down of the tax situation with trading US stocks from the UK? i.e. capital gains.
