I live in the UK, but I know the US market much better and wanna start investing there! My question is, what brokerage firms allow you to open an account from the UK, as in transferring the money from a UK bank to the other account? Or is there a better alternative, as i dont like losing out on commission rates on changing currency with the bank?!
I d really prefer a US brokerage, due to low commission rates and different services..if you know anything..pls let me know!!

ps. Another question is about tax issues: i m both spanish and us citizen. By trading from the UK in the US stockmarket, who shall I pay taxes to? and how?

If you wish to trade US instruments from the UK then try www.interactivebrokers.co.uk as this will more than cater for your needs.

For tax purposes, it will all depend on where you are considered to be domiciled and if you are unsure then professional advice should be taken.
