Looking for a good broker

I will start an account with $600k and will add more fund in the future. I mainly trade on GLOBEX emini (nq,es,er2, euro), ECBOT emini(ym, gold), NYMEX emini(QM) right now, like to expand to more products in the future. I use my Excel trading program to manage the emini trading. I hope you can supply me with Excel API interface. That means (1) you will import real-time quotes, positions (No. of contracts) and order status into Excel. (2) I can place, modify and cancel order through Excel.

If you are a broker or know some broker who can meet my needs and give me competitive commission rates, please send me a private message.

Try interactivebrokers.com, good broker, good Excel API, although they also have much better APIs available eg C#. .net, FIX etc

Thanks rog! You are right. IB seems to meet all my needs. But I read a thread http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=65260 few weeks ago. I am a little concerned. Do you know any other good one out there?

I wouldn't worry about a few comments on elitetrader. I have never had any problems with IB and many others here would say the same. Go with IB.

I have left IB a few years ago. could you tell me what are they commission R/T rates to trade the EUR/USD Futures....

If you trade volume, look at the bottom for the unbundled rate.

Thanks mate,,looks like $5.00 R/T......i am paying to much with my broker at $7.00 R/T i am going to call them for a better rate, if they dont come down I may move to IB

Well, I've an account with IB only shortly. So far my impression is that IB systems are ok. The information provided by IB is often not clear, that my english is far from perfect may have something to do with it. When asking for clarification respons is slow if any respons is given, answers are ambiguous, plainly inconsistent and I was even accused of claiming that I stated that there system was incorrect while I only explained what I expected, that these expectation were clearly not met and ask for a clarification about the marginrules applied by IB.

In short, the IB system seems to be ok, if I read the forums the chances of problems are not too big. If a real problem occurs however you'll have to deal with a pretty much useless customer service to get it fixed.

Based on my experiences with IB up to now make that I will (for now) transfer far less of my business to IB than initially planned. I surely would not recommend to be solely dependent on IB, but that is off course common sense for any broker.
