OPM Resources

i receieved a phone call allegedly from OPM Resources, the caller from OPM spoke to me a couple of times and convinced me to buy a share listed on the nasdaq, the person convinced me that the stock would fly very soon. since chatting to me a couple of times the stock has risen significantly. anyone else receieved similar calls? is it likely to be a scam? i have to give them 5% of the profits. i can give more details if asked. im quite confused so any help would be greatly appreciated

Out of interest, how did you purchase the recommended share? Was it through "OPM Resources" or did you have the option of buying the share directly through a broker of your own choosing? I would be very wary indeed about dealing through any cold caller, especially since one assumes that this would usually involve your disclosing personal details (e.g. bank account details) or having to transfer funds to them. Look forward to your response.

Are they registered for selling investments in the UK by the FSA?. If not a) they are acting illegally and b) you won't have any come back if it goes wrong.

i seriously appreciate your replies.. the shares have been apparantly purchased directly through the company and the paperwork should be arriving tomorrow, what i understand is that includes share certs and funding details. when asking for contact details the number was from vienna and no personal email address was given. buying directly they give you a 10 cent discount

i dont know if they are registered for selling investments, but i would not be buying from them, directly through the company, they provide the research and recomendations.

what has serprised me is that from what the caller said is they know of an RNS that will make the share rocket.. anyway look forward to your replies

Am I right in surmising that you have already handed over your cash? I have to say that the whole process sounds like it could turn out to be a real scam. I am especially suspicious about the incentive offered to buy directly. If the company really appeals to you and you're convinced that this isn't a straightforward case of "ramping" a share, then I would suggest that you buy through a reputable broker. Good luck and let us all know what happens.

thanks for the replies once again. i havent yet paid any funds, i have to decide in the next 2 days!. the FSA site is very usefull, i will give the helpline a ring and see what they say. the website of these guys is http://www.opmresources.com.

the share is BSLM, fundementally not to impressive. what ive been told is they have a new product, and they know of monsanto approaching to take over/big contract with them very soon. the news is yet to hit newswire.. let me know what you think

Ever seen the film "Boiler Room".... sounds just like the script to that and doesn't OPM stand for "Other Peoples Money" ?

Anyway .. just a thought....

The site looks similar to one that I looked at after a friend had a similar call last year. They were called by a different name.

im 99% convinced it is a scam.. i recieved payment instructions today! looks like they have printed using ink jet printers, the writing is a bit slanted, i reall cowboy job i must say!

under the details it mentions
" your trade details have been forwarded to Bio Solutions Manufacturing, Inc so that your share registration and certificate will be prepared and sent to you"

people like this make my blood boil.. really sickens me.. always conning people for hard earned cash, never think twice what the consequences might be for the person being scammed.. anyway let me know what you think
