Tesco shares hit by weaker than expected profits

Remember the media guff about the World Cup boosting sales, and warm weather boosting sales and a strategic alliance with Carrefour and plans for "Jack's" which is going to take on Aldi and Lidl?

Tesco's share price closed below the 50EMA in mid-August. The 50 turned downwards a week later. The 20 dropped below the 50 in early September. The FTSE100 followed a slightly more bearish trajectory and timetable. No traders should have been caught long on this share this week.

On Jul 3rd, a director exercised a large number of shares at price=256.10.
(netting £3.8M)

Today, 5 directors bought shares, 2 of whom spent over 100K each.

I have always been fascinated by the prospect of using directors dealings as a leading indicator! never got round to it. (one of those unstarted projects)

do you think directors know things we dont?

I'm not convinced. I think there is a number of reasons for a Director buying (or selling) shares, and it would be odd if their reasons were the same as mine.
