Is there much money in Canadian sports or does a lot of the talent drain south?

Most of the major sports leagues are with teams in both US and Canada, for NHL, this year is the first year where the Canadian born players are less than 50% of all players, US born are like 30% something and the rest are international - Edmonton have the first Australian hockey player for example...

The US only league is the NFL which is a lot stronger then the CFL and as far as I know the difference is like two minor rules like the size of the pitch or something...

So yes, there are a lot of money to be made, depends on the sport and the market of course...
