I found a great free real time tick aggregator here. But what I really need (for trend analysis) is some free CSV format EOD data by symbol (1 year or more).

Any help appreciated.

Thanks,

I found one link on Yahoo but it only offered a 1 line EOD for the previous close. Does Yahoo offer a 1 year (~252 days - or more) of EOD quotes for a specific symbol as well?

I'll go rummage through their pages again and check a little closer.

Again - thanks.

Check out EODData.com. They have FREE data downloads, and if you want more of an automated feed they offer FTP, WebServices, or HTTP download. The pay for services prices are very cheap. Starts at $9 a month. The issue with the FREE download is that the data is not ready until 8:00 PM.

Take a look to at HSQuotes. It is a one time free for the software then you download the quotes from Yahoo! Finance for free.

I'll Have to check hquote out

I finally found a 5 year source at Yahoo! It's really cool because Yahoo offers it in a way that it can be retrieved inside an HTTP Response body (meaning it can be programmatically retrieved as a string without having to invoke a browser client session. The url for Red Hat (RHT), for example, is:
http://ichart.finance.yahoo.com/table.csv?s=RHT&d=11&e=22&f=2009&g=d&a=0&b=28&c=2005&ignore=.csv

I (think I) tried EOD Data .com a while back (registered and everything), but was unable to get it to work. I emailed them - but have not received a response. The Yahoo data is perfect for what I need for now because I can collect the information inside a macro.

Thanks again.

Take a look at the URL below. It is a translation for all the Yahoo! CSV parameters including a way to obtain fundamental data.

http://www.gummy-stuff.org/Yahoo-data.htm

Bookmarked! It seems the gummy stuff implementation allows request parameters for more than [just] the "base" off the shelf CSV URL (right?). There's a lot more info to be had, or so it seems.

Wow! I didn't get you anything for Christmas! Thanks

I would be neat if Yahoo offered a similar service for options or option chains? The CBOE requires a browser session, a download and then an import - plus their symbiology is getting weird!

Again thanks!
