Hi ladies and gents, its time to get real with trading. I have been trading for years, and almost always lost my money. I trade stocks, and i love it. i love doing the research, i love the trading, but im not here to tell you about the the puppy dogs and rainbows of trading. It's hard, really hard. I hope to gain a lot of knowledge here, and maybe a friend or two. Anyways, heres my story. I started trading forex (lost all my money) for 4 years. i took a so called "training course" for $1000 US. I was devastated when i found out my teacher didn't trade for a living. Trading in hindsight without real money is easy to do, and don't you know you can make millions doing it? Haha yeah right. I lost another $3k in forex. I started trading stocks, again with no education and lost another $2k. So i was so drawn to stock trading, and honestly believe to this day i can do this for a living. I dumped another $5k into the stocks. I figured i would get into the pot stocks, but when i got in they were already going down. i was sitting at -$1700 from my $5k, and i watched a video on cutting losses. so....I did. But this time, I decided to start doing what many people say..."learn". I turned that -$1700 into a +$2200. So? I put my hard earned money back in my bank account, and played with the profit. Long story short i had all my money in a company that would soon go bankrupt. It did, and i lost all my profit, and quit trading. But Im drawn to it, so im back. Here's the thing folks...I SCREWED UP! I admit it. I'm not a failure, i just made a huge mistake in discipline. I was at my profit target, but it was right before an earnings release, i thought it was going to shoot to the moon.. and of course...i had no stop. i hung onto that stock until it was dead. The company paid me out a measly 86 dollars from my 30k shares (by then it was a penny stock). Im not a terrible trader, i just screwed up on discipline. Well, and other things.

New people to trading. Come up with your own system, backtest it, learn from others, paper trade, do whatever you need to do to be successful, but be disciplined. Dont think your stocks coming back, dont think that if you really believe in your stock it will make you rich, When these guys on this website give you sound advice, learn from it. Follow your STOPS, STOPS, STOPS. you can lose a little compare to blowing up accounts with stops. AND, its ok to lose. LEARN to lose, dont love it, but dont LOSE sleep over it (you like what i did there?)

Anyways guys and gals, i hope you can relate, and hopefully it will help you in any way. I also hope to learn even more from you, so i can be successful and teach others my success for free one day.

Im new, please forgive me.

hey there WTT

well you've certainly been in the wars !

all the experienced traders here at T2win have had their own personal journeys , highs and lows .....the thing that binds us all is that we are still here and trading ......despite the lows that do come ....usually in the early years ..........thats when you find out how much you REALLY want to trade and be a winner ....the losers fall away and go on to find something else less challenging

my advice ? ....

Take your time to learn - research research research
Go demo demo demo whilst you test
specialise in something ......

you also need to get that head of yours together dude .....90% of trading is the mindset ......the systemised stuff is easy in comparison...so i would recommend you get into a few books on mindset and discipline etc .....

sounds like thats a hurdle at moment

lol. All i wanted to do is say hi, and that i wanted to admit to anyone that i screwed up to be able to clear my mind. i Have backed off of trading for learnings' sake, and am working on discipline not just trading wise, but personally as well.

Hi FT,
You have to understand that most traders on this forum are losers also looking for someone to guide them. There is little useful info here. I hope you don't look at others and ask the most common question, "what indicators do you use?"! Easiest advice I can give is multi-time frame analysis. Since you're trading stocks, look at weekly, daily and hourly for entry.

Hello mate,

I'm just going to be straight with you, as that's how I'd prefer people be with me.

No need to trade in such amounts.
You clearly are not able to trade profitably, so why put such money on the line?

I'm glad to hear you realise your general error. As one of the lads suggested, work on your psychology. There are some good books out there that will help you.

Ones I found useful were Trading in the Zone, Atomic Habits, Fooled by Randomness...

Understanding your psychology will do you very well. I assume the impact of such books will vary from person to person, but I believe you will find bits and pieces in those books I mentioned. I'm sure there are others out there that I am not aware of myself.

Good luck with the journey buddy!
It's a wild ride ;)

OK PEOPLE, LISTEN UP. IM NOT HERE TO ASK FOR ADVICE, AND IM NOT TO ASK HOW TO BECOME A SUCCESSFUL TRADER. "THIS REPLY POST" HAS LITTLE TO NO USEFUL INFORMATION. OBVIOUSLY THIS IS NOT A SITE THAT PEOPLE CAN COME IN HERE SHARE, AND LEARN.

4EXIS, I DONT WANT OR NEED YOUR SO CALLED ADVICE, I NEVER ASKED FOR IT. I JUST LETTING PEOPLE KNOW I SCREWED UP.
MAYBE I SHOULD HAVE SAID SOMETHING LIKE " HI EVERYBODY, IM GOOFY, IM JUST HERE TO SCREW AROUND."

THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A WEBSITE WITH LONG TERM MEMBERS THAT HAVE TO REPLY TO EVERYTHING WITHOUT BEING USEFUL, OR EVEN KIND FOR THAT MATTER.

THANKS GUYS AND GIRLS, NO NEW PEOPLE NEEDED HERE, UNSUBSCRIBE AS A USELESS WEBSITE WITH NO SUPPORTING MEMBERS.

YOU PEOPLE SHOULD LEARN TO RESPOND LIKE NVP, THATS A GREAT RESPONSE.

So why are you posting here then? Simply to vent? Why is my suggestion about multi-time frame analysis offensive? You are correct, this web site is nearly useless. You say you don't want advice. So why is NVP advice so wonderful?

specialise in something ......

Thankfully, you quit this forum. Good, I will put you on ignore anyways as you may change your mind and post how you don't want advice.

My bad.
I thought since you were making rookie mistakes and that you posted on a trading forum, that you were looking to improve as a trader.

Disregard what I said, and good luck with whatever it is you are doing.

Hi W -

Your first post was extraordinarily honest, I clicked "Like" on it soon as I read it, and I hope a lot of new traders (and new-again traders) read it and take what you've said to heart. We've all made errors in trading and it is kind and brave to lay them out so plainly.

Your second post is a bit shouty.

Tom
