Could someone give me a ballpark figure for what your overall costs as % of your trade would be if you generally traded 50 pip moves on a main indice through a broker using the minimum tick size.

I currently use a spread betting firm and pay £4 per trade at £1 per point so in a 50 pip move my cost of £4 equates to 8% of my trade.

hmmm i use capital spreads and a few others there 0.7 spread per trade. so eg if i was trading £1 per pip. i would start off with minus £1. if you had a stop loss of 50 pips and there was no slippages then would be minus £51 and that amount from what ive researched should be not much more than 5% of your trading account (you should have around £1000ish in your account)

Hi Ash,

Thanks for the reply. What on Capital Spreads is there a 0.7 spread?
The minimum I can find is a spread of 2, so you would start off with -£2.
