ISO is not an acronym for the organization's name in any of its working languages, though it is conventionally written in all capitals. An ISO standard is an international standard. ISO is part of the foreign exchange market in the standardization of the three letter abbreviation of currency codes (e.g. EUR for the Euro). These are also referred to as SWIFT codes. |
