Fast, reliable, satisfyed... new customer
I am from Ukraine and opened account with AMP fortnight ago. Excuse please if my English is not great. I opened account Funds are already in account and I am trade. From Ukraine its difficult to transfer money because government here makes it difficult... my AMP broker, who speaks my tongue, explained process and I was able to fund money fast, but no more than ~ 1800 USD per day because local regulations in my country. Anyway, I already trade and sent money back... money was back in my account in Ukraine next banking day, which is amazing. I used local broker Broco and it took 2 weeks just to get money back, so AMP is surprising fast.. broker said they do clearing, so process is faster because no corresponding broker needed for money assistance.
Here is what I know so far: NinjaTrader is super. Fast, reliable, free. I used ZenFire on demo, but broker said that I can't renew ZenFire demo, so I used CQG. Same fast speed, but I was to use micro instruments (I do not like these, but they are available). On live I requested CQG because broker told me lower fees and no inactivity fees. Routing is cheaper too, but I do not remember price... just it is cheaper. For wire transfer, because of poor english, my broker helped me fill out wire form and he contacted department to make sure my money left the next day. I was surprised it works this fast... again, very good note. Commissions are good, execution speed is great (I am long way from CME). I use Skype for technical help and it is fast because broker replys in real time to my questions... maximum wait is severeal minutes, but usually about 30 seconds.
To say it short: I am happy leaving Broco and hope others share my experience... did not think its this easy transfer money from abroad to USA and trade without problem.

Been with AMP for years, good service
Strange to hear of your experience.. I am from Holland and have been with AMP since 2010, so 3rd year now. I like their service and EUREX connectivity, execution is also good... also my broker always takes time to explain any enquiries I have. I know about the liquidation fees, but most brokers have them, same with the time of the market close--my previous European broker said any time within the last 10 minutes before the close is open game to be liquidated, so AMP's 5 minutes or so is fairly generous, at least by my experienc. In any case, I have never really had any problems, including withdrawels, so my experience at AMP is very different.
They have their own rules
This guys took me out of a trade at 4:11- The market closes at 4:15
I had 4 contracts - I was watching I was on top of it
The market was moving toward my break-even point
They flatten me I was down 437.00 dollars and change
Then they charged me 100 dollars 25 dollars for each contract
Yes, I would have hit a target and made a little
I closed my account the next day
These guys are scum
This is a horrible company

Rude, Unprofessional, Unresponsive
One day noticed a sudden 40 pip change in the cost basis for a position. I had neither opened nor closed part, it was a position I had been carrying for hours.
Amp representative responded on a public forum "I'm not surprised you are having problems managing a 1 contract position" and continued by saying what I'd said made no sense and couldn't possibly have happened. No offer to investigate or prevent a recurrence.
I moved my money out that day.

How to halve your account in 2 months
"AMP has elected to disable the Auto Trading Programs because it has reached a level of draw down that is not in the normal program parameters. As of 5/12/11, no new trades will be placed for the Auto Trading Programs in your account. We will continue to run the programs and monitor the activity. If the trading conditions return to the programs normal parameters, we will make them available for clients."
THESE GUYS APPEAR TO USE VERY POOR RISK MANAGEMENT. THEY MANAGED TO HALVE MY ACCOUNT IN FEW MONTHS!
