Yes, recently OEC has been experiencing technical problems but I have been trading with them for over 2 years and this is merely a small blip. I would rate their overall reliability at around 99% which is excellent considering I remain connected to their server 24/5.

OEC provide coverage on a wide range of markets, have a number of ways to enter trades including an excellent DOM and have a good interative chat/support window available. There commissions are reasonable and their is no monthly fee for the use of their platform. A compelling futures offering.

Unfortunately over the past 3-4 weeks (21/3/08) their platform has been totally undermined by ongoing technical connectivity and s/w problems. They seem powerless to resolve the situation.

Anyone considering this broker MUST beaware of the ongoing technical problems with their platform. If they ever resolve these technical issues they may well be worth trying.

In the meantime, if you loose money because of their platform or their data you do not have ANY comeback to them.!!

Good DoM, Flexibility

I've been with OEC for about two weeks (moved from IB) and they've been great. The platform is free and easy to use. They have no monthly minimum trade requirement, no order cancellation fees, no data charges, etc. Commissions are not bad, but not great. You can also trade pit markets with a broker by phone with an on-line chat feature built into their software (very cool) for around $25 a RT if you need access to other markets. All in all, I'm pleased and glad I switched.
