Daylight saving time in US

I thought my SB tick charts (both Dow etc. amd FTSE100) had started to look odd - activity and ranges of 5min bars was falling off after 8pm, missing bars etc., when I expected market activity to carry on as normal another hour until New York closed. I suspected a problem with data feed to the charts.

Actually, the US implemented daylight saving time on 08/03. The time in New York is now only 4 hours behind the UK: US DST runs until 01/11. However, on Sunday 29/03, we will also put our clocks forward so the difference will return to 5 hours as usual through the summer.

Happens every year but has caught me out again.

Its easy to forget US holidays too.

Non farm days, even FOMC days.

Half days can sometimes catch out day traders too.
