here is a basic backtest of Barjon's (kaufman's) method.

has a look at the weeks movements up to a point, and then trades counter to the previous action.

if thursday was preceded by 3 up days, then we go short. if preceded by 3 down days, then we go long. similar for fridays, basing upon monday-thursday's action.

in terms of trading the next day, then it doesnt look too promising, sadly.

when holding for several days though, then it may have some merit, and i have done some combinations on the other worksheets.

all in all, it might form the basis of a trading method, but in isolation, then i dont think it is worth pursuing.

Blimey, you're a Testing Tyro  I'm lost in admiration.

Another chunk of fool's gold bites the dust.

im onto testing intra-day forex strategies now.

wish me luck, im going in....

Hi FC
Good luck indeed with your FX testing. I assume you've abandoned that Dow method, which came across as pretty ambiguous to say the least, given that your last journal entry on the subject was early October. But well done for attempting to follow it and for sharing your experiences.

orion, that was my dalliance with the Genesis trading system, which i still use to guage levels on a daily basis.

it works to a degree, but im not a big fan of the fairly large losses that can occur with it.

im always on the lookout for improvements to everything.

i guess im just never satisfied.

hmm, id make a great husband, eh?
