Swing trading With a Difference

So what makes this any better than JonnyT's system that you criticised without knowing what it was?

I got a little method, Trading the Dow. To give you an example the last 60 days if you went long the Dow on the 09/07.2004 and got out tonight 01/10/2004 you be down 19 points, on a simple buy and hold. But if you bought the low in the last 60 days on 13/08/2004 9783 and got out on the high at 10363 on the 07/09/2004, you would have made 580 points.

The point is this method of mine has made 787 points in the last 60 days beating the buy and hold and buying the low and selling the high. There was only 14 trades taken Commission cost is low. can even be used with a spread bet company. I will think about relieving it to you all soon. but I might just wait for my old employee E.F.Hutton to see what they offer me.lol, :D

These are the results i keep you posted

:arrowr: profit 1017 points
:arrowr: loss 230 points

I keep you posted.

HI CJ and All.

well done on the swing trading CJ. Your description is very vague to say the least. What sort of stop-losses do you have for a 60 day trade? is it based on Futures trading or spread-betting? What do you do whilst waiting for the swings to develop?

Have you ever considered Scalping the YM, i am being trained by someone from the boards who used to post here, until he was criticised for his trading results. After 4 weeks the 4 trainees are making way more points than the swing trading you are taunting us with. i'd say more a week than monthly swing trades. And thats with one contract..... Also we swing trade with SB about 10 times a week, taking a few hundred points a week on top. We even take out the spread too :)

When are you gonna show us your trading method to help some of the 95% try and make something of the markets.

Good luck with the swings, keep the stops tight.

Spencer.

Spencer.

Would you like to post your method for achieving this?

...just reading the market and understanding exhasution in trends...taking out the spread is not a priority but come a s a bonus with good timing before the spread companies manipulate the price .....thers no magic formulae just hours of learning how to read the market cheers mark j

Mark,

did you just answer my question to Spencer?

Just got back from for a long weekend. I will write a method for you all to trade later on tonight.

HI CJ,

Can u suggest me....?
Cheers VP :D

Hello vishwamv

Most traders are familiar with pivots. A pivot point is simply the point at which a security changes direction and is therefore a turning point. A pivot low price bar has higher bars before and after it A pivot high looks like the mirror image of a pivot low.

Pivots signify the end of a short-term move and minor reversal or the end of the dominant trend .I use Pivot points to calculate my buying or selling entry ou can use Fibonacci or gann levels of support and resistance entry and exits, and in a host of other trading techniques.

A pivot range is also based on the high, low and close, but is calculated somewhat differently than a pivot point. As the name implies, pivot ranges have a high and low limit. hope this have helped.

I cant understand why nobody have replied to this post on my findings, it's either to complex or to basic, which of the two is it.

Always open to new ideas cj12 and will have a look tonight - what I can say before w/o checking is that it is very generous of you to spend the time describing yr system on these boards.

Best of luck - F

Hi CJ,

Thanks for sharing the method. I can see from your second example. clearly where the pivot points are, but in your first example, I would have picked different points. (If I were trading this in real time) Is this a matter of subjectivity or do you use some calculation?

delyboy

The pivots are not subjective just the time frame you are looking at.
