ok I have using ninja to trade 4x for about couple of months now, and A friend told me to use meta4 it is a way better trading tool when trading 4x. I called up my broker, and they told me yes that they have that platform available, I asked if they had a demo? and they said no I asked if they can e-mail me a book so I learn how to use meta? and they said no they dont have access to it! What The Hell??? I dont understand that you promote this platform, but you dont know anything about it, But anyway does anyone know how I can learn how to use the darn thing???? I am pretty spoiled with ninja but my frien says I can get way more use out of meta4 than ninja, and he really encouraged me to learn to use it. So I would really like to get some feed back so I can study it over the weekend.

Personally - i prefer Ninja ;) Even with all the crap the NInja people did to the user interface and the programming (both pretty horritble), it shows enough potential to make it worthwile.

MT4 is waay more flexible and there are thousands of free indicators to use. goto forex-tsd.com, forex-factory or metaquotes.com to see code samples. Actually after you look at a few programs and start tinkering with it you'll see its pretty easy. (plus the in-program help feature is great! plenty of code snippets.) Make a program to just open/close a trade then add conditions from there.

Well, technically both are. I asked for a refund on Ninja due to the tremendous accumulation of idiotic programming and obvious bugs. Lost about a thousand USD simply on stupid programming errors in Ninja.

The metatrader 5 launch is delayed .This may be due to bugs.People are so xxxxin stupid to invent new platforms which do not work properly.

Metatrader4 is a great platform for automation for the small guys.It is simple and easy to use .K I S S platforms are the best (Keep it simple stupid)

I really prefer Meta trader since it offers much better technical indicator and time frames, and in my mind it is one of the best investment tools. Actually my dad got me in to Meta.

Most brokers have a demo version. Download one from FXPro.com and play with it.

MetaTrader have not gate to real exchange market - only inside dealing center ...
But NINJA allow you access real exchange like EUREX or CME etc.
I like both package, but made my automated system for NINJA (and XTRADER).

MT4 doesn't have tick, volume, range, seconds charts as does NinjaTrader

i like MT4 but wouldn't trade intraday via an fx broker, trading the NFP release
yesterday the MT4 broker shut down the feed !!! until the price settled which
is usual behviour for them - i was trading the 6E via NT

i use NT to trade the 6E Euro fx which is the same as the eurusd, contract margin
for the 6E is $500 per $125,000 contract but is $3,500 to hold overnight but i would
use an fx broker to trade fx o/n - day-to-days because the margin - in some countries -
is lower, in Canada it's now 3% - $3,750 to day trade the equivalent of 1 6E contract
roundturn commission for the 6E is about $4.50 vs whatever the fluctuating fx spread
is plus 'slippage'

the thread below has a chart of the 6E during the 8:30 minute of the NFP released
in August, the estimated volume for the minute is about 2,500 contracts
http://www.trade2win.com/boards/forex-discussion/70472-6e-vs-eurusd-nfp-release-news-trading.html

Globex currencies are a centralized exchange - ES mini SP500 vol goes as high as
5,000,000 per day av 2.5M and while some fx brokers offer the 6E, ES etc trades are
being made with the broker not Globex and the same applies if it's 'straight thru' since
it's still an individual bank deciding on what they'll B/S your trade for

so while all charting/order entry programs have their +/- points, i'm using NT because
i'd much rather trade the 6E than fx

TRDR

262,497 contracts @$125 k suggests a daily volume of 35 bn.The interbank volume is $600bn daily on euro /usd.

If 20 times more liquidity is available ,fills in theory are quicker.Avoid dealing desk brokers and try STP and you will see the difference.

I stopped trading NFP days because of three mixed signals in a minute i.e revisions, unemployment rate and jobless.

oildaytrader: 32.8 bn. i think the interbank vol is something of a myth, when you start to
break it down between all the currencies traded, all the countries and all the banks and
various financial institutions, then figure out how much is euro trading, it's probably much
closer to the 6E's daily volume - and the Globex exchange isn't a self-interested party

yes, was it last year and/or the year before as well when the bets were going not on the
NFP initial figures but the revised amount, then the revision of the revised - lol

i'm still new at trading the 6E but thought i'd have a go at this weeks NFP, see attached
.

You odds of making money on NFP days are 33% in your favour .I got hit with wide spreads, bad fills or no fills and finally with 33% edge in favour /67% against.

Try telling kids not to play with fire , and they still do it or curiosity killed the cat.

i think metatrader is ****.

why is it crap ? what platform do you use ?

the the problem i have with ninja is you cant zoom out enough like you can on mt4 ....but hopefully ninja7 will be better ......anyway i think mt4 is pretty good .

This was a useful thread for me as I was considering having my MT4 indicators translated for Ninja! Thanks to one and all.
