Hi all, does anyone has any experience with “Flux Capacitor” indicator?

It is created by Back to the Future Trading and they have NinjaTrader and MetaTrader versions.

It is supposed to be able to forecast future direction and time of price reversals (eminis and forex pairs), based on constant scanning of Institutional trading patterns.

I attended last Friday’s webinar conducted by Michael Lydick and he gave an impressive demonstration of the indicator for day trading. He gave the usual disclaimer that it does not work 100% but can provide higher probability of success when combined with our own trading systems.

As the indicator does not come cheap, it is my concern if this is real or a scam..

Could any user of this indicator comment on it? Any comments on other predictive indicators or software are also welcome! (Thus far, I only know of MTPredictor..)

Btw, I have no affiliations with this company or their products. I just happened to find out about them when NinjaTrader sent updates on their new partners..

Haha.. Yah, you got a good point there, Paul..

I gave Michael the benefit of doubt coz he showed how the indicator gave reversal spikes ahead of price action.. In fact, the indicator provides signals up to a week ahead..

Well, I'm a novice in this kind of stuff so I was greatly impressed but I also have been conned enuff to know this seems to good to be true..

Hence my request for user reviews or comments..

I bought it before Christmas, and I'm glad I did. It works. They show it working. What's not to believe? It works exactly the same on my computer (after getting the charts set with Ninja and a new (free) data feed, all new to me as a Thinkorswim options trader on a Mac; they provide as much help with that as you need) as it does in their trade room and their webinars. With the signals it is then up to you to be a good trader, as it is NOT the holy grail, though it's the closest thing I've found so far (and I've now stopped looking).

I like the trade setups they demonstrate and test online, but I'm most comfortable with my own trade setups, adding the new signals as an additional factor to keep me out of a trade or let me know it's a good trade.

The signals from the software are fantastic, but so too are the training and support that Michael and Ron provide. Both are excellent teachers, and I've learned a great deal from them on trading related subjects other than "buy here, sell here.'

I enthusiastically endorse Back to the future trading and all that comes with the purchase price. I feel it is the best purchase I've made in trading education for the money, AND the best purchase I've made in trading software for the money, both for the same price. I didn't think that would be the case when I was shelling out the dough, but I am a happy customer, client, student, trader, and friend.

I wish I could trade this pattern :

Newbie with 1 post comes on T2W asking a question about a new system vendor
Another newbie with zero posts endorses the system, telling everyone how great it is.

Profit Target : Both new members get shouted down and told to **** off for indirectly touting for new business / posts are deleted

Stop Loss : System is genuine and profitable and becomes a hit in the trading community. Both members go on to become legendary members and make valuable posts on the site.

Would you care to provide some proof in the way of account statements etc?

The Flux capacitor is the device that traditionally fails.

Sure I'm a "newbie"; I don't spend my time posting on sites like this. I very rarely post anything anywhere--all that tells you is you might not know me. Believe me if you want, don't if you don't want to, the choice is yours, and it won't affect me either way. It seems the best way to get believed is to say something negative and crack a joke, but I have nothing negative to say about Back To The Future Trading.

It's smart to be skeptical of something that sounds too good to be true, but you don't have to take my word for it, you can check it out for yourself. It's not smart to belittle and distrust a product you know nothing about if you think the name is silly. I thought the name silly at first too, but I now find it to be perfect.

I just got the indicators fro Ninja Trader and Meta Trader and looking at the live videos I must say this is at minimum very appealing. This is obviously far away from a scam. Calling everything that supposedly does not work a scam is a little bit hysteric in my opinion. In fact, even a mediocre system can provide profits but it is the human who causes it to fail.

In general I am interested in predicting movements, I also have Vantage Point software which provides predictions for the next 2 days using Neural Net and inter-market analysis.
The flux indicator is based on data mining methods and is just another way to predict time series.
Now I will forward test the indicator and see whether it is profitable or not.
I though believe the optimal way to use modern prediction and optimization techniques is in real time. Vantage Point is only end of day analysis and in many cases the analysis is just out of date in these volatile markets. Thus, I will use Neuroshell in order to create NN analysis and optimization in real time.
I am doing also a trial of the Ensign software which has a tool called Ensign Map which predicts the price path over the next hours using Neural Networks. The last week (9-13. Aug.2010) was extremely volatile with the markets getting very nervous so I doubt that any NN or other tool will perform very well.
However, inter-market analysis in real time might be the right tool in order to recognize strong, generalized movements. Traders do that for a long time but modern computer power can definitely help to improve performance.

Certainly patterns of human behaviour do exist in the market, I wached a video about this indicator, and the guy is certainly a good sales man. I then trawled the net and found a couple of people that said it does not work. I know vantage point does not work unless you are in a trend but then what does work all the time. I am a pattern trader so for me a timing tool is a cross on the price access. I did analyses the eurusd and the turning points are encoded into the price, you can work them out before they occur, my turn on the eurusd is forecast for the 2-4 of Feb 2011.

I think that the turn is more likely on the 4th, which is a Friday, and usually Fridays can be one way days. But, these turns are always linked to news events, thats the way they do it, the turn is coming, but they dress it up as if no one was expecting it. So, I would look at european data coming out on the 2nd or 4th of Feb 2011, then look for data that was outside of expectations.

So after reading this entire thread, I have learned nothing. Wonderful.

Ok then, so you should learn something.
Its a scam, I tried it before it was even called this name and worth an exuberant amount.
And it is not any good at all.
The idea behind it was good, but like all ideas some really have no substance.
You can not predict the future its impossible.
The people selling it are part of an online marketing company, they do not sell just trading scams.
They probably sell vitamins and sex toys as well.
Stay away from them the only reason they are on the internet is to make you give them your money, no other reason.

I cannot speak to the comments about online marketing, vitamins, etc.

I have the software, I've seen many of the company's videos in their Training archive and I believe that they put in a lot of effort into Trader education. They recently did a 6 part webinar series on creating a trading plan, risk management and working through psychological issues. I believe that the people behind this company care about their product and their customers. They do regular free training webinars which they post in their training video archive.

They have a trading room where they trade the software every day with a chat room and plenty of time to comment, jeer or whatever. Short term intraday trading, scalping and occasionally running trades. I admit that I've never been in the trading room; Not my style of trading.

Is it expensive, is it good value for money? That all depends on how much money you have and what return on investment you can make.

The central message from Jack Schwager's book Market Wizards is that success came to the traders he interviewed when they found a system that worked for them. If you took the short term forex system from one and gave it to the fundamental investor he probably couldn't make it work and vice versa. Yet both of them were so successful on their own terms that they were interviewed. What works for me may not work for you and vice versa.

Is the Flux a Holy Grail? A Millionaire making auto trading bot that you can plug into NT7 and walk away singing. No, nothing is. Like any approach it takes a while to appreciate and find out whether it works with your trading.

This is a product that may or may not work for you. If you're not sure then don't buy it.

The only problem I see with the flux capacitor indicator is that it requires 1.21 Gigawatts of electricity to operate - thereby cancelling out the profits the system makes. Unfortunately the Mr Fusion plugin hasn't been completed yet and the indicator has a tendency to reset it's date setting to Nov 5 1955 randomly.

We are not a scam. In fact, we post 2 days worth of market forecasts across 10 markets 2 days prior to every webinar that we host, each week. We then invite people to see what happened at those forecast turning times, and ask them to tell us what % of the time those turns were actual turning points in the market.

It's a fraudulent statement to say that someone is "scamming" when they are in fact, not. It's harmful to an organization that legitimately cares about their customers, and works to create tools that people are successfully using in their back tested trading plans.

Please don't believe whoever this "Dr. Jones" is. We are not aware of anyone by that name who is dissatisfied with their purchase. In fact, we have a 1% complaint rate with PayPal, the company who processes our transactions.

It is not my intention to promote this product, but to defend our online reputation against liable statements with no defensible position. I would love the opportunity to post something somewhere that says, "Don't believe anything Dr. Jones says, he is a horrible evil person", and see how he feels as our post remains online for others to see into eternity....
