Hi all,

i was wondering if any of you use the mobile trading platform for MetaTrader?

If so, which PDA/Smartphone do you use, and how do you find the platform to trade from?

Thanks in advance:)

Hi, astondan!
I am using Toshiba G900 with screen 480x800.
3G connection support.
Meta Trdaer 4 mobile works fine.
I am not making too intensive trading, but
it is fine for monitoring trades, when market
analysis already done and you have mapped interesting price levels.

Got an HTC TYTN / O2 XDA Mini S... it's ok but you wouldn't want to scalp with it. Monitoring/managing positions is fine.

I use a Samsung Omnia phone which works on Windows Mobile 6 and the MT4 mobile platform works well on it. I can place trades, monitor them, modify them, close them etc just like the full pc version.

Anyone using iPhone?

Any idea if MT4 works on the iPhone?

The good thing about iPhone is its "unlimited internet usage for fixed monthly fee"

Is there something similar out there in the UK ?

Cheers

I don't think MT4 will work on an iphone because it only work on windows mobile and I presume that the iphone uses Apple Mac software.
I have a Vodafone account which has unlimited internet access (subject to fair usage policy which in practice means up to 0.5Gb per month which is more than enough) + 500 minutes calls to any network + 100 texts for just under £30 per month.

I use a Samsung Omnia phone and the internet speed is very good. Almost as fast as my normal broadband at home.
When I am away I use the Internet sharing facility built into WM6 and by plugging my phone into my laptop can get broadband quality internet connections on my laptop. It does depend on the strength of the phone service where you are of course but so far Vodafone has been pretty good.

I absolutely hate blackberry and anything sony.

Friend regarding your question will have to search on the internet. I have been trading with AVAFX and they were using the normal platform for trading no MT4 or other automated trading systems so i cannot tell about. Soon this broker is starting the services of MT 4 by 2009. Now i have stopped totally trading this market. And willing to share my experience with people who have queries about forex. Before i was busy trading this market and making money now i am searching about all the softwares available and new inventions in forex trading and learning more about then to help people like you. Who are eager to make money through new systems and softwares.

Hi,

Would you please share your experience on brokers enabling to perform mobile trading using MT4? What's your advice?

Many thanks in advance

Alpari have their version of MT4 mobile which works fine on my WM6 Samsung Omnia.
ODL also have a MT4 mobile platform.
I've used the Alpari MT4 mobile to do trades on their demo platform and it is very easy to use and just like the real thing. Also if you have a running trade set up on your desk top you can monitor it, modify it, or close it whilst out and about.
I set up a trade whilst walking up to our local shops last week. By the time I got home it had stopped out!

Sounds very interesting. I have alway be cautious about mobile trading (fear of losing connection,...) but I may reconsider. I want more and more to act super fast in front of some big news, if I rely only on my PC with MT4 installed, I may miss big opportunities.

I have just bought an Omnia and am trying to put the metatrader4 program on it. Everytime I do it the display just shows html.
It is driving me mad!! What am I doing wrong??

Use an ipod touch. Go to apps store > categories > finance (or something like that). There is an app i saw there for 3-8 pounds and they're releasing mt4 on it. It could be "forex something or other app".

Me too. It's a nice phone just that I not that expert to use it.

A question to anyone using it - can you put simple custom indicators on it? If not ones in MQL - does it support the built in heiken ashi?

Hei,

Maybe the internet provided is good ,but it will affects the phone.Affects mean the battery will be damaged because of the frequent charging and all.

The HTC TYTN, TYN II and Touch Pro (TYTN III) seems quite good for mobile trading, as it is almost as if it is a minature laptop. Unfortunately though, the metatrader mobile version for PDAs or phones is quite limited in that custom indicators cannot be used (I stand to be corrected though), and thus have to rely on the built in indicators within metatrader mobile.

I am currently using HTC TYTN. Looking to upgrade to HTC TYTN II soon though.
