I don't have IB in my list for a backfill source. I use them as a data provider but they are missing from the backfill list and I don't know how to fix that. Any ideas?

IB should be in your drop down list from Ver 3.6.1 (April 20, 2005) onwards. Ver 3.6.1d Beta is now available.

I am using 3.6.1d but still can't see IB in the backfill list.

BB,

You need to do a "Webupdate" on quotetracker which then gives you the option of what to include as a data source and then you will have it. Click on "Options" and select "Webupdate".

Now I can get the backfill, I am having a couple of other problems. The Volume doesn't scale to the chart and I would like to have a chart with just the day session data. Been playing around with the settings but no joy so far.

Put your cursor at the top of the chart and a group of hidden buttons will appear. Click on the clock to change which time template is used. I use 'us equities', but there are other reasonable choices. You can also go down to the 'edit timeframes' option and make up your own. That will give you just the day session.
As for the volume not scaling... I doubt that you are right. To my knowledge you can't turn off the autoscaling on indicators. Take another look.

I did all of the above. It just doesn't have any effect and I still get the pre-market data when I choose not to have it.

This is one time when I can't be wrong :) Take a look at the chart I attached above. Several of the volume bars have their tops chopped off.

If you have found the hidden buttons and selected 'us equities' , have a look at the top line of that menu where it says "show Pre/After Market". You can see it in Riddles attachment. Check "Never".

I attach the preferencies menu. 2nd down from the right is the "volume spike cap" set at x4 by default. Try increasing that. It may be due to the low vols at the start of your chart. Or changing the time -frame may cure the problem anyway.

That sorted out the volume. I had checked 'Never' before but still get the pre-market data. I tried changing the times but that didn't work. Will have another go tomorrow.

I suppose it might have to do with your regional settings and time on your system. My computer is on EDT, and I have no problem. But that is just a wild guess...
If it is still happening, you should probably post about it at their support board: http://boards.quotetracker.com/board/ubbthreads.php
Jerry and crew are really good and fast at addressing problems with their software. As a former programmer and IT manager, I can't remember any other company that was as good.

the show pre/post market set to NEVER - needs to be done on the chart, NOT on the preferences screen. The preferences screen just controls the default setting, but if a chart on a symbol has already been opened, QT already remembers a setting for it, so defaults do not apply.

Right click on the chart, select VIEW / Show Pre/Post market ... and select NEVER.

FYI - IB is having some issues with backfill this week. They are working on the problem.
