anyone else using it with windows 7, keeps on prompting for a login and crashing on occasion. I wish I had stayed with 3000xtra

Forker, Can I find out what your using your Eikon for? If your paying 1500 a month for it, are you also using any other systems?

I have actually been working on a few projects here at Bloomberg displacing a large number of Reuters with Bloomberg and would be keen to see if there is anything we can do to reduce your costs and problems your facing with your Eikon.

JP - could you please stick a vendor tag on your profile, just so your pro-Bbg comments here and on other threads are clear in their context. Ta.

Just seen in your profile, if your still using esignal as well we should maybe have a coffee.

JP

I use signal for charting mostly. Reuters never did a sufficient job of their charting. As for turning me to Bloomberg, I am a creature of habit and have used 3000xtra for many years before Eikon. Reuters have never done a great job of charting which is why I use Esignal.

How can 1500 a month help you to get an edge over a guy who is long SPY for the past 14 months and he turns on his old Win 2000 computer once every 3 days?

I like to know that...

Different strokes for different folks...

Hi there,
I am thinking of taking Eikon metals as I trade commodities and forex on my own account. What are your thoughts on Eikon apart from crashing problem?

TR Eikon works great with windows 7, the reason it keeps on prompting you for a login is because you may have your internet explorer set to delete cookies upon exit browsing (check ie settings in the advanced tab), Or you are deleting temp files and cookies manually, or you have changed your password last time etc...

For crashing issues, Check the office version Compatibility, if it is crashing in Eikon for Excel. If you are using office 2010 64bit try downgrading to 32 bit.
