Hi,

I have been trading shares and indices for the past 6 years at a prop firm and I am moving to London in the next three weeks. Can anyone point me in the direction of a group of traders renting an office where I can join? I am fully setup already with hardware and accounts. All I need is a desk, an internet connection and cool atmosphere.

Search on desk space for the location in London you are interested then tell other traders here where you are. It is much cheaper to go to a desk space company than a prop shop in the City.

Thanks for the feedback. As I am new to London, I was hoping to find a group of guys already with space rather than starting on my own but I am open to doing that. I will go the route of desk space as I am fully functional already minus a place to sit.

I am interested in an office share if it is based in the city of london and if we can get a few people involved to keep the monthly cost down. There are cheap places like another poster mentioned (easyoffice.co.uk etc), most of these places are nasty though, some dont even have aircon.

There might be groups of traders already set up given that prop firms usually charge £800pm desk fee+ £800pm software (more if you are spreading) but I dont know any.

pm me if interested.

Pm sent.

It's looking like finding existing groups that are already setup is harder then I thought. So I think we should start our own. But not in the cheap and nasty.

Look up trading floors on yahoo or google and you will find there is one in Brentwood they appear to charge from about £250-£500 per month to sit. There s a bit more to it than that but have a look.Ok here you go.Forex Trading Floors Craven Gate,Lorne Way, Brentwood.CM14 5HH.Phone 01277 232225.
They use Lmax to trade but i belive you can use your own package. If i lived in London i would try them but i live in Bedford and would not commute.Good luck and please let us know here how you get on.Thanks Mike.P.S i belive they only trade Forex i may be wrong.

Thanks redtag12. I think this is exactly what I'm looking for. I have made arrangements to go see them and i will take a decision from there.
I will keep you guys posted.

I am also looking for desk space and would like to be around other market professionals. I was thinking of renting a desk at Le Bureau (link below) which is based in Battersea. The offices are definitely of a higher quality and have excellent facilities giving you access to the office 24/7. Would be really great if a few of us went in together to get a group discount on the already very reasonable £79 per week

I have been to see the offices at Forex Trading Floors and that is everything I was looking for. I am pleased to say I will be joining the guys there on Monday. It's the perfect environment for any trader wanting to sit with other traders.

Just as a followup. I started at offices of Forex Trading Floors two weeks ago now and it is perfect. The offices are services and clean with good facilities. The environment is brilliant with a great bunch of guys all sharing knowledge. I would recommend it to anyone looking to trade from a professional environment www.forextradingfloors.co.uk

PS I can say i have had my best two weeks trading ever.

One happy person.Great.

Whats wrong with a well set up home office? The way I see it its peace and quiet you can control.
Focus focus focus - no distractions if you do it right.
How did it go in the end?

I don't think there is anything wrong with trading from home. I guess it comes down to personal preference. For me, I have always been employed by a broker and worked on a trading floor. That trading floor environment is very important for me.

My update was merely a conclusion to my original threat. It was never meant to covert people or be a sales pitch (which i noticed now, it does sound a bit like that). I was just so glad to find what i was looking for and i wanted to share my story.

Hi and happy new year. Has anyone found a trading floor renting space in west London? Somewhere along the Chiltern rail line? Preferably other fx traders and access to fast internet or even multi screen pc's? Best wishes, Mach

There are a couple of groups near barbican.

Alternatively just search for desk space and coworking in the location you are interested in and then let other traders know where you are on this board. Coworking spaces are growing exponentially.
