Hi

We are looking for 2 traders to trade our ‘in house’ proprietary trading edge. Our team is overseen by an experienced long term profitable intra-day/week/month trader (it's not me, damn). The edge (comprised of high probability set-ups) is price action based and is applicable to any liquid instrument, easily trained and full training (at no cost) will be given. At present we trade remotely however the longer term plan (IF all of the group can reach consistent profitability) is to open a shared office in central London to trade the edge in a professional environment. Initially trading remotely we stay in contact using web conferencing software.

The team will be trading the edge across 2 instruments each, FX & Equity Indices. The edge provides a large number of high probability set ups from the 5min t/f and above and can be traded across multiple instruments hence the need for more pairs of eyes. Traders will alert the others to pending trading opportunities on the instruments they are monitoring thus maximising the number of trading opportunities in the trading session for all of the team.

We are currently trading the 8am – 12 midday London session (Monday – Friday) so all traders would need to be ready and able to trade during these hours. As the longer term goal is to trade from a co-operative office where costs are shared we are looking for people who are located in London or a short commute away. The thinking behind this is that a shared cooperative office could help get over the isolation of trading alone, provide economies of scale, share costs not risk and also it may open up further opportunities for all of us working as a team.

We are also open to traders bringing their own high probability trading edges/set-ups so long as they pass scrutiny/testing and enough evidence is available that they are hi-probability and can be easily trained.

Please note there are no charges/fees for joining (now or ever) and each trader will be trading for themselves, backed by themselves at all stages. If and when we progress to a shared coop office, all costs will be split equally, ballpark cost £400-£500pm. There is no salary/profit, each trader is completely independent. We are looking for people who are serious about becoming profitable and progressing towards trading for a living full time. Ideally you will have existing trading experience but are missing the final few pieces to progress towards full time intra-day/week/month profitability.

If you are interested please pm me and I will send you further details.

Good trading to you.

PS - we will require a simple non disclosure agreement to be signed prior to disclosure of our 'in house' edge. This is just to protect us in case someone tries to take any of our proprietary information and take it to market.

where are you based now? and where do you envisgae the co-op office being situated when all is up and running?
best,
Nev

Hey Iamnev

Based in London. Office somewhere in zone 1 central London.

Pm me if you are interested. Thanks

Someone asked me how much capital is required. As each trader is trading for themselves all margin, position size is down to them however £5k to £10k would be a bare minimum to keep leverage low and reduce the risk of destabilising losses. I would expect the new traders to trade demo/chump change to start with until they have confidence in the edge.

I think knowing the capital req are a key deciding factor for some, and might eliminate newbies.
It helps to provide context of the set-up.

I must say, the 8am-12 trading times are a definite plus.

Yes agree £5k to £10k minimum. Short focussed 4 hour trading sessions are preferred to avoid burnout and keep the mind fresh.

Right let it be stated I am not buying into this. I do not believe he has the edge and there are sure to be fees along the way

I'll take the other side of this, Flashy.

I think there might be an edge, and the proposers are merely using the desk-fees as a means of paying for the set-up, and getting themselves a free desk.
And possibly get some volume rebates.
Essentially, utilising other traders to get free resources for themselves.
Nothing wrong in that.
However, if there is no edge, given the day-trading nature of this, it will become apparent quite quickly.
I cant see how if it is underhand, how it could survive more than 6 weeks.

Things to watch out for would be not to get tied into any extended contracts.
I am notionally optimistic about this.
As I am with all possible trades.

Has pboyles commented yet? :cheesy:

No no, course he has the edge, he's probably taking the core principles from
his illustrious 'gift to newbies thread' and added in pin bars at round numbers
and hey presto edge completed!!

Im sure PB will be along shortly.:)

If they had the edge why share it. How many prop type firms do you know who have the edge. They are after the fees

The only mention of any cost is £400/500 a month once successful for sharing an office, no?
No mention of brokers/exchange etc. as trading from own account from a rented office.

Are u saying that prop/arcade traders are mugs?

No kimo, a trader is a trader where ever he is ans someone has to have the fees so why not an arcade. I have no problem with that. What CD is offering is an edge for nothing. Thats all,I hope Im wrong.

Hi LF

I understand why you are sceptical. I cant prove on a public internet forum that are no fees all I can do is say we are 2 private traders looking for 2 other private traders to form a team. no fees now or ever, no splits, if it does progress to a shared office then strictly equal split of costs between the team.

Re - your opinion on whether there is an edge. I cant really prove or disprove you on a public internet forum and nor do I want to. It's no great shakes anyway as you could give a solid edge to 100 traders and probably 90 would still fail, it's only one component. Edges are everywhere when you start to look, just a case of finding one that suits the trader and then being able to trade it.

The reason for finding two more traders is in the OP.
