FTSE Thur 17 May 2018 after the US session close

FTSE the Fair Old Lady has grown very tall during the London session, hitting the ATH!!!, though only by a few pips.

To start the London session it nicely obliged by closing the gap, good opportunity to start the day with positive pips!

Posted few charts for your perusal.

Accumulated London session volume, not too excessive, and ATR far greater that 5 day ATR average - interesting.

Ready for tomorrow London opening.

Good pips to all,

Delta count on DAX is not clear to me atm.
I trade DAX using other approaches, like momentum and certain important zones, as described in my other posts.
With DAX session times are more completed, but I add XFRA and XETRA together into one session for fibs and closing/opening levels.
I also use fibs (RET and EXT) of the first move of the session in trading DAX and DOW
I do similar studies on both, as in the following post.

I take notice of both, the US session (pit time), and 24hr period (GMT)
Fibs drawn from each differ accordingly
Other charts are for the preparation after us close and before the London or US opening

I also use fibs of the first move during the session time both for replacements and extensions.
Chart not included as it is on another computer.
I use that same setup of fibs with replacements and extensions both ways, as one might have noticed.

The span of the previous session and its closing, together with the current session opening provides very useful insights, fibs or pivots are of good assistance.

Please make your own observations and spot any practical utility one can make from such studies of the PA.

Good trades to all,

DOW Update over 2 hrs after US close

Careful on both sides, ITD 6H seems to be there, but the fall has happened partially outside of the US session. Delta rules allows that H to come on time or late. So be careful either way.

Momentum takes time to get absorbed.
As there is the possibility that ITD 6 H and MTD5H is there, the US close yesterday proved once again to be a useful zone.
After US open, run for the gap close, perfectly accomplished, than a reverse, down from the US session close zone to EXT 141, back to the close, than again down to EXT 161 and below, but failed to reach 200. DOW often goes to EXT 261.8, but not today.

These were possible short entries levels with a moderate risk exposure.
Not the easiest day, but manageable. The old momentum dies a slow death.

There is another 25 min of the US session remaining, Though I have finished some time ago at the bounce of todays Low. Time to read and study.

Couple of charts for your perusal.

Good trades to all,

DOW 23 AUG 2018

ADR reached, red lines on MT4
US Opening, ms1 reached, than the GAP CLOSE
Back from the Pivot/US Close to ms1
ms1 to the Pivot / US close "war zone"
Than the move of the day (so far) - multi entry intraday position - closed below ms2.

The last charts makes the Pivots visible, and some of my trades (M3 - proreal charting).

After 2hrs of DOW trading today, no point to face monitors any longer, gym and pool is waiting!!!

Good trades to all,

I find drawing Fibs from the previous US session candle very useful.
There is a difference between drawing Fibs of the previous 24Hrs and the Fibs from the Previous session ( pit time)
Please check it yourself and share if there has been/ is utility in that approach.
Myself I prefer the Fibs of a session candle, for indices it relates to the more meaningful trading activity INHO.
It might be different for FX and commodities.

For comparison two sets of charts posted below.
Both sets display M30 on the top and M5 at the bottom.
White Fibs relate to the last session candle
Yellow fibs relate to 24 Hrs GMT of the previous day M-candle

By the way, it has turned OK to be away after the day's bigger move on DOW.

Tomorrow a lot of news release, it shall not be a calm trading for the US session.

Best wishes to all,

2be

Useful levels on DOW before the US session opening

We are paid for precision, good focus and discipline. Forgetting that reality always has a price tug!

So far DAX has been good to trade so far today.

Good trades to all.

For an unspecified time I am abandoning Delta counts.
It seems to be very difficult to establish a viable delta count, and I do not wish to confuse a clear PA on shorter and longer TF.
Common sense must prevail as always, and one cannot ignore market structure of HH/HL and LL/LH, that in respect on any TF one chooses to trade.
I am adhering to other principles explained on this forum long time ago.
Need some more programming done and check some ideas.

Closing Longs on DOW and DAX atm.

So far a good day.

Best wishes to all, and for a time goodbye.

Hi 2be,
It is hard to trade Delta due to inaccuracy of turn point dates. I just started a journal where I will be trading eurusd. I got the ITD from your posts on this thread of gbpusd. I ignore the other time frames and include sentiment from "www.dailyfx.com".

Take care.

Actually, I'm looking at the 32 year cycle and adding 4 year series to look for turn points longer term. Here's what I'm seeing right now in the USDX.

DOW and DAX present some trading opportunities, but one needs to be decisive fast, and extremely focused with entries and exits.
We are being paid for precision, and we pay for the lack of it

Just a few charts, the old stories of mid pivots play. and the gap scenario with indices.

Good trades to all,

DOW before the US Open Fri 14th Sept 2018

Dow Before the US session

Softer data release, not too good for the USD but DOW might go up, after closing the gap???, if so trade carefully.

Observe the US close yesterday and the fibs taken from the previous session, or pivots especially mid pivots.

Good trading to all,

DOW update
Gap closed just above RET 50% of the previous session,
Only longs for me on the DOW.
Closed all longs near the round number on the top, just in case, it is Friday!

Good weekend to all,

Surprise surprise, with re trade "war"
Went long again at the double touch at the L of today's session ( the zone of yesterday's US session Low, towards the pivot and the US session close, will close it manually if it does not achieve 26135 (10 = of 26145 Last US session close)
Proved to be an eventful session.

Good weekend to all,
