2be started this thread Market participants have been left with speculation, churning, and a game of trying to outthink the thinkers in the boardroom at the Federal Reserve. Lately, so-called markets have become a venue of trading ahead of the next Fed policy announcement, or piggybacking on its stubborn implementation.
Since 2008 markets have become a venue for wealth extraction rather than wealth creation.
Markets no longer perform true market functions. In markets today, the dead hands of the academic and the rentier have replaced the invisible hand of the merchant or the entrepreneur. James Rickards, The Death Of Money, p70

2be started this thread Like every stock market mania, the most overpriced assets are the ones furthest divorced from any sound valuation. Eye watering prices are paid for companies with less than 50 employees using a “this time it’s different” formula based on clicks, eyes, views, or active members to persuade investors to part with their savings. I've been champing at the bit to respond to this one. Thanks for allowing me into the JuJu circle 2be.

Not sure if anyone quotable has said anything similar but your quote above immediately suggested a mirror image:-

It is the mark of a quite different mind to accept a thought without first entertaining it.

I think a lot of lost trader souls could wear this cap.
