your not the only one, seems like we all are beeing fleeced
it looks like we are paying them so they can have a posh
address in the city at our expense, have been feeling like
a wally for most of the weekend.
Where are you based Gmarx?

Have you read the post on the Mayfair office space? I may be interested in this, have spoke with T/T and STS + cqg already and to be honest, it would prob work out alot cheaper (this is all dependent on getting decent rt costs riding on the back of my selected clearers volume of course!)

weakpunter started this thread pboyles,

Yes some are brokers , but some without mentioning names have cottoned on to the Uk
style arcade model and are basically offering services for pro or high frequency traders AKA day traders scalpers etc and they dont deal with the retail business such as a famous top world broker would, they offer specific services to the type of trader you´d find in an arcade......to me it personally looks like the FCM´s have taken a look at the Arcades and are going after their business, well theyve succeeded in luring me over to them and I´ll bet loads more will follow soon once people start realising what can be had elsewhere

Spreader01,

Iam near liverpool st. Ive just had a brainwave if all of us exploited traders get into an office together and combine our lots with an FCM then not only will we pay less for platforms but we´ll prob get our commisions down to the same or less than we are currently paying at arcades!!!

Hi Gmarx

Yes I am on the same wavelength Gmarx,

I am also talking with 4 other traders who are genuinely open to this,

2 who are ready to be in place at any time and 2 who will have to serve a months notice + myself,

I have emailed Meanreversion about his space in Mayfair meanwhile, the 4 that are there already + the potential group of 4-6 of us and possibly what other traders wish to be involved could be a good move,

(to others reading this post from the sidelines, please only post if you are in a position to move offices in the immediate future and are a genuinely serious trader looking to share offices)

Hi gmarx

I really like this idea too as something needs to be done to reduce these ridiculous costs charged by the arcades.
I am willing to move offices and share with other traders using an FCM if there is any interest.

Me and a few other colleagues have been thinking about this sort of thing before. I know we can get services offices in South Quay quite cheaply on a per month basis and if there is enough of us it could be very benificial for all concerned.

Just a suggestion but www.regus.com have a lot of serviced offices that you can get without having to sign a long lease. This might be a decent solution at least in the short term. I think they have one place in Canary Wharf.
