due to regulation - investment banks are shifting their business model away from prop trading - they can get away with a certain amount but the big boys are greedy so they go where they can do their stuff without any aggro from compliance, etc.

Also a lot of the algorithmic trading models that have saturated the U.S and European markets are not quite as prolific over there, a mixture of stricter exchange rules and less sophisticated market infrastructure on some of the newer exchanges means there are more opportunities for humans to make-a-market as opposed to a computer
