Fav tech indicators

MACD & Exponential Moving Averages for me . On their own are pretty good but combined with Level 2 ( Market Depth ) and price action and I'm good to go

:)

Hmmmm indeed ... at gunpoint, I would go for DMI/ADX (that's only one), MACD divergences and CCI.

Price and occasionally volume.

Price has to be the most favourite indicator because without it we would not even trade.

Second favourite for me is a 10 period EMA superimposed on the price chart.

I used to look at volume but I pay it scant attention these days and I am doing better and better without considering it. I may give it a cursory glance from time to time but that's all.

Gotta say that I could probably get used to not having my MACD and EMA's on my charts but if it had to be one ( not truly a tech indicator I guess ) I COULD NOT live without my Market depth ( Level 2 ) screen .

I 'grew' up with that when trading Spreads and CFd's in the early days and find it invaluable trading the FTSE futures now

anyone uses MACD divergence signals?
i think if you tweak the values and combine with other indicators it can be a winner

anyone starting out could do a lot worse than to learn Woodies CCI - also slow stochs is one of the more useful indicators for newbies - however, indicators are like stabilisers on a bike

in time, all indicators become irrelevant - the crucial knowledge is price patterns, filters and subtle clues offered by individual price bars within these patterns

I have 4 really.

1. Price

2. 34/100 EMA (almost magical).

3. Slow Stochastic/CCI

4. ADX

Price + Volume of course...
other than that, MACD, fullstoch and 22ema
