Help Required Please

I am not over technical and wish to upgrade from two to four monitors.

My current graphics card is a Matrox G550, I think this is AGP but I am unsure.

The motherboard is Gigabyte Socket A GA-7ZXE

IGhz Chip

1.5G Ram

Any suggestions for a good card would be welcome

Many Thanks Spreadbet

:D

I've got a Matrox dual card but I have a faint line moving up one screen, and another moving down on the 2nd screen.
Can anyone suggest anything to stop this.. I can live with it but it would be nice to remove it

thx

I had the same problem. The way round it for me was to set it up so that I could have independent resolutions/frequencies on each screen. I then run one at 70mhz and the other at 75mhz.

Hope that helps

Just add 2 cheap PCI graphics cards. 8M is more than enough memory.

Hi Chartman

If I choose this option am I likely to encounter software conflicts with the Matrox driver?

Many thanks for the help

I run a three monitor setup with the matrox card and an 8mb PCI graphics card, works fine. Not had any conflicts at all. As noted in my prvious reply I just need to make sure that the monitors next to each other are not on the same frequency.

By the way (not trying to show off here) :cheesy: I also have a second PC with multi montior setup and I do not have any problems with lines on the screen with that one. The only difference here is that the monitors are all the same model and make. So it's probably having different makes of monitor that causes the lines on the screen.

i think you may have overlooked something...

me thinks you'll find that a lot of systems will be running out of slots by then

Very true.... Might have to re arrange something, like fit a USB modem instead of PCI one...

You get USB monitors or flatscreens these days - unless i am mistaken

can't you just have 4 of them ?
