Whats the best AntiVirus

I've used Kaspersky for many years with great success. In the past I had a couple of nasty viruses on one of my machines and out of a few packages I had at the time, Kaspersky was the only one to successfully remove them......

To be honest, I haven't heard of ESET so couldn't compare.........

NOD (eset) is well respected. Many prefer earlier versions because it has got bigger.

Of the free options AVG is very popular but a little slow. I switched to Avira Antivir instead because of comparisons with AVG pointing out improved speed, lower system load, and fewer issues.

well i wont discuss but lets just say i have LOTSS of cash for software :p

i just want to know of allt he possible options of good AV's to be honest

PCW.co.uk Article 2009 January (they release 1-2months earlier than they should). I have the word doc if anyone wants it.

at the moment i run

ESET Smart Security Buisness Edition

are there any better ones???

I'd stick with it - I've not used anything quicker, and apparently it's the most effective - I've never heard of it missing a virus, whereas the same can't be said for any of the others I've tried.

PCWorld liked bitdefender too Killphil. Seems quick as well as thorough.

I looked for eset vs bitdefender reviews and the one on the nod website compares with the 2007 version of bitdefender. That was probably the earlier faster version of nod also so its not really relevant today.

It seems that bitdefender was an also ran until this year but has leapt ahead. I'll have to test it.
