Well, my laptop decided it was time to download and install SP1 for Windows Vista last night and silly me didn't do anything to stop it from doing so ( yes I know, please don't say it  ).

So far it [the laptop] seems to be running ok except for MetaTrader.

When I start up MT it asks for login details which it's never done before, also, I can't save any templates or profiles.

Anyone else experienced this ?

Anyone know a fix ?

I suppose I could try uninstall and then re-install MT

you can try to restore it to a previous time... before the update...

or re-installing metatrader...

otherwise... can't help... I stayed away from Vista...

Bugger !

Just tried to shut the laptop down and got an error message saying Access Violation Error

Oh dear !

I can't understand anyone using Vista - XP runs faster and with less trouble...

For reference

Vista updated itself again and the problem fixed itself.

Also, I have to run MT in Widows XP SP2 compatibility mode otherwise MT just displays static charts.

has anyone tried saving profiles and then actually finding them in the profiles folder in vista??
