Thought i would start a thread on P.C problems as its something we all have in common.

Basically just a heads up if you are having issues with your windows P.C/Laptop becoming really slow and sluggish lately. I had this issue for the last week or so, I very nearly arrived at the point where the laptop was going out the window..

After deleting many programs, uninstalling and reinstalling virus and firewalls, performing a restore (whereby i lost my personal email folders) I eventually found the culprit, Windows 10 update 1803... takes about a hour to download, another hour to install then goes back to download, this is a continuous loop and takes up approx 50% of your RAM.. I ended up downloading it manually using a program called windows 10 update assistant, I have lost roughly 2 days on this and still trying to find lost folders.

How much ram do you have

3GB, its just a everyday second laptop i use...just so im not putting my main trading pc at risk. But i have all my email and various day to day stuff on it. But i watched the 1803 update loop 3 times, when i googled the problem, others are having same issues..

That update first failed on mine but went through the second time. Check you have enough disk space but your main issue might be memory related.

Checkout amazon workspaces. You pay a small fee per month to have a Microsoft virtual machine In the cloud with all your stuff running on it. Your laptop can then be a dumb terminal that you can use to access that machine. You can also access it from any other machine around the globe. It's cost effective as you don't have to lay out on hardware and you can customise the package to your needs.

A good trick I've found to speed up any computer that you've owned for sometime is to open it up and remove the large quantities of dust that accumulate inside the casing. The dust impedes air flow and the machine start to run hot. In order to stop over heating the computer slows processes down. Removing the dust from around the little fans and fins gives the old comp a new lease of life but be careful not touch anything as static from your body can damage the sensitive electronics.(y):smart:

Ive actually gone a step further, I blew it out with a compressor airline, then drilled air-holes in the casing near the heat sink/fan area. Its also mounted on a twin fan cooler base..:LOL: This baby is cool :cool::cool:
