Unfortunately still very slow from here (Germany). It really takes about 10 seconds until a page gets displayed, with each click on a page link...

Here are ping timings from here to the given 2 servers below:

I now tried also with a different browser, and there it is much faster!
The reason for the difference seems to be that one has an ad-blocker and the other not.
Ie. the slowness happens when an ad-blocker is used...
OTOH the slowness with ad-blocker does not happen with other sites.

Wish list:

It would be nice to have own boards for the following categories for traders:

- Taxes around the world

- Programming

If the ad blocker is the culprit unfortunately there's not a lot we can do about it, I think it's probably the specific way we have the ads integrated into the site, which to my knowledge is not in any way unusual. :/

We used to have a forum specifically for taxes, but there just wasn't enough activity to justify so we consolidated it into Home Trader forum, you'll find some tax related threads there. As for programming, we've got Trading Systems and Technical Analysis, again we've had more specialised ones in the past, but they were consolidated too. Of course if there are enough threads, or there's a real willingness to champion a new forum, would be happy to assist by setting something up. Thanks for your interest!

Programming ones ideas is the NEW craze or as in my case getting someone else to do it for me.
Perhaps T2W could find someone willing to start a thread explaining programming in such baby steps that even I can follow it ?

Switch over Pat. Trust me, it'll be the best move you'll ever make and you'll wonder why you put up with MT4 for so long!
Tim.

I see OptionHouse review has removed it from the top 10 platforms !
The problem with US based systems is that they are always gouging one for more money for add-ons etc. Think I will stick with MT4 for the present. Thanks.

Hi Pat,
I suspect you maybe confusing ProRealTime with someone else as it's owned by IT-Finance which is a French company. As for costs, PRT is free with IG - so long as you do 4 trades per month - which is nothing.
Tim.

Second that.

Pro Real time very good for market makers.
webIRESS and InfinityAT also very good for direct market.

Hard to believe how bad MT4 is.
Maybe because I'm not a programmer.

Also been using FXCM for the last 12 months, like it but not a touch on Pro Real Time.

Then there is CMC got a lot of stuff, but hate the platform.

Can T2W change Cheesy with this far more realistic and appropriate smilie for me please.

I'll accept that as my Christmas gift.

Much appreciated thank you.

PS. I've also sent a letter to Santa asking for the same gift so you may get a long distance call soon.

Re: trolling/nuisance/noise posters, as per the "Anyone scalping the FTSE Futures??" thread, et al : it occurred to me that there might be a means already at your disposal to build in a sort of discretionary filter that would enhance the quality of posting behaviour (and transparency) without going against the spirit of the forum

As one has to manually set someone to "Ignored" and this is a condition for a particular field in whatever DBM you use, it would be very simple to add a couple of extra display outputs. One of these could be a stat on the members profile page and the other could be a mention next to their posts...say just below the avatar...there's enough space - This number would be fair warning to anyone new as to the regard in which the poster is held and might encourage existing members to ignore rather than enter into the ridiculous time and space wasting exchanges that currently take place.

...and if you feel that this isn't fair then one could do exactly the same for the "Ignorer".
