I think the Top 10 posters stat says it all. I rarely see the 10th place with more than 30 posts. Has this dropped off significantly over the years or has it always been that low? I remember the days when the 10th place was above 60 posts...or maybe that was the exception rather than the norm.

Any historical stats on this?

Apparently all forums have suffered a decline in activity due to newer forms of social media. For instance twitter is full of people making trading calls. It's not limited to this site nor trading in general, it seems times are changing.

agree

It's not limited to this site nor trading in general, it seems times are changing.

Times have changed sometime back. It is just that a few people have yet to catch up and hence, you still see some activity on the forums. It is the older generation still on forums.

Twitter is not a good platform for a meaningful discussion , forums are not dead , i see other forums - non trading related - with activity through the roof ...

It may be just that noone agrees with NT's views from the Thatcher era.

The official line, It's a shining beacon, everything's fine, t2w is going from strength to strength

The reality, its dead, devoid of leadership and ideas

It is up to the members ( and management ) to make sure it's lively ?

RIGHT ?

And the way to do that is have lively threads and inducements er bribes if you wish to call it that because people are spoilt for choice and all free too.

Well maybe it is a bit dead but it wasn't alive either if that was the question , i wouldn't call the lulz BS content as "alive" ...

Lololololol. I see you have a vendor badge. Is there lulz?

A certain t2w member of staff claimed that as I was "selling an an t2w agenda" that made me a vendor !

Amusingly I had the last laugh of course because I was able to prove to myself that vendors are actually able to use their private message facility despite being assured by Steve that vendors cannot PM

Not dead, merely resting, I hope, but internet forums are probably ultimately doomed, like high street shops, phone boxes and the Conservative party.

well yes some forums are going downhill, but not all appear to be suffering a so called demise due to other new mediums of discussion.

babypips and forexfactory don't appear to be suffering decline, in fact they appear to be growing in popularity over time.

dear ol' t2w looks static but slowly sinking.

elite looks to be on well on the slide.

both babypips and forexfactory are more popular than t2w and elite. hmm can you see the pattern emerging? and what did admin/management do to capitalise on the growth discussion topic of forex?

maybe the management should nt be so quick to ban the more colourful, which can also usually be the more experienced traders and members

sure the more colourful often may have something extra to say, and sometimes off the status quo, but trading is stressful - and this is nt a fishing forum

if by banning certain members that also bring there knowledge and experience - then there wont but much intermediate to advanced knowledge to be gained here, just mostly newbies and the residents hanging out, so it may seem abit dull at times
and then the likes of FF and Fx TSD and elite will be come more appealing as they offer something different, especially for the more advanced traders

im sure the management more or less know what they are doing, but does nt mean they cant use ideas from other forums especially with banning and reprimanding

moderators should nt be let to feel like power gods, threatening bans on a whim (as we’ve all seen)

there must be a strict structure and 2 or 3 strikes and 2 wk ban etc and then out
not 2 strikes and your out, never to be seen again

after all its not just information traders are always looking for,
it seems alot of us want alittle entertainment in between sometimes very boring trading - but with the controversy of some members usually a fair bit of entertainment

anyhow just a thought
but if you wish to ban me... no problem, there are other forums :)
