Tomorrow Trade2Win will be observing a two minute silence for Remembrance Day by turning off posting on the forums at 11am GMT.

It was at this time, on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month in 1918 that World War I formally ended. It's a chance for us all to remember the sacrifices made by the armed forces and civilians, in times of war, both in the past and present.

Thanks to Trendie for suggesting this here.

For it to be a proper silence you shouldn't just disable posting, you should disable the website in its entirty

OK.
I think we should start the 2 minutes silence from about now.

Have we learned our lesson in the following 92 years?
Do not forget what is done in our name.

As long as its just for the World Wars and does not include these filthy illegal political wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

That's the best you can do? Americans beating up prisoners and Stevens making allegations he could never substantiate in a court of law? Hardly equates to the holocaust does it?

Remembrance Day is a commemoration of the combatant victims of war, not of martial victories or specific causes furthered by military means. Even the soldiers of a victorious army in a just war must be considered victims, in a sense. I am happy to recall their sacrifices. I only hope their commemoration results in fewer such sacrifices in the future.
