It is time to cut the crap and move on to some real trading related discussions.

This thread, should you wish to partake, is going to be very simple.

A member will post any US stock symbol that they think has a potential to make some money, but must give a simple explanation as to why they have selected the stock. Other members can then join in and post what they think is the best way to trade this stock, if at all?

This is not a general discussion thread about what a stock might or not might do, but a discussion about what way the members will trade this stock, what the entry and exit levels will be, the position size and target duration of the trade.

The trade can be any way possible, Scalp, Daytrade, Swing, Position, Investment, Options, SSF, CFD, even Spreadbetting if you are that way inclined.

Please keep straight to the point and try not ramble off talking about silly and stupid things.

And now, as it will more than likely be brought up,

THIS IS FOR EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY - TRADE ANY STOCK SYMBOL MENTIONED IN THIS THREAD WITH REAL MONEY AT YOUR WON RISK - YOU ARE TOTALLY RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR ACTIONS SO DO NOT COME CRYING IF YOU LOSE REAL MONEY - WHAT YOU DO WITH YOUR OWN MONEY IS YOUR OWN BUSINESS

For those who wish, you can use this overview as a starting point to pick 1 of 45 stocks.

Print it out in A3 if you can, if not A4 will do but not as good as A3 obviously.

Get a highlighter, mark the good candidates and note why you think they are good.

If you think more up then you must have a reason for this, same for down.

How much are you willing to risk?

How much can you afford to risk?

If you are married does your wife know about it?

Do you even know what your doing or are you just being sucked into the usual trap of easy profits for very little work?

Always think hard before you make any financial decision, especially when you are doing something that you may not really know the intricate workings of. I have never seen a carpenter fixing a car, or a mechanic roofing a house. for a living!

...............Get a highlighter, mark the good candidates and note why you think they are good................

Ooooh! Squiggly lines on a chart after all you've said TE :)

I know nought about US stocks but like the look of APC, AIV. Rising prices, looks like new highs, last pullback not as severe as most. I'd go for continued strength and wait for a pullback to trade them

good trading

Indeed. US market looks overbought(ish) and long would seem a bit risky right at the moment. There's the January highs on SPX sitting just overhead.

No BJ, the squiggly line IS the chart.

Also, I was thinking more along the lines of people actually doing some work as if they were actually trading live, so we will require a "more detailed"plan of action that just a Ticker Symbol:rolleyes:

I have my views on it, but what do you think is the best approach that you'd take?

Hi,

Watching MBI (NYSE) next few days. Watching for the 5.50 hold and then approach and breakout of the recent high (5.70$). Would want increased volume and an over under then 2nd break preferably. Or some sideways movement then break on the intraday chart.

Although this is a daily chart, I would trade it from a 1 min.

1st target just under the round 6, take half off, bring stop to just over b/e and see if can get a nice spiker over the 6 on the remaining half, to get fully out.

Will be a pure momentum based play, which all my stocks plays are. Very quick trade with the momentum, any lagging and stop and OUT, simple as. STOP would be about the 5.50.

This isn´t particularly typical of the Stocks I trade, this is rather liquid and known, but it is simply one I am watching at this time. Generally I trade NQ stocks between 2 and 8 usd, normally unknowns, but all momentum based. I will post more.

This is one more typical of what I trade with Stocks. This one was especially good for various reasons and I marked it up for someone.. So thought I would just show you it.

As you can see, this was from 4th Feb 2010.

Gives a good indication of what I look for intraday, compared to the daily chart I posted above (which bought my attention to it) - Now I move to shorter time frame like this one here, 1min to 5min max intraday).

Cheers.

Good posts LTT, you seem to know a bit about what you should know, but like most, you are missing the important bits.

However, we will see how you get on and join in later, busy for now.

Straight lines are always more important than squiggly ones.

I wonder what the short ratio is for this stock:-0

Shame, nice exit just at the HOD, just under the round 6 like I said, close the other half left on just before market close. Oh well, no spike over 6 but still rather happy with that. Did what I thought so can´t ask for more than that really :)
