I have noticed the volume of trading on Friday was huge with little price movement. Anyone know what's going on?

Freaky Friday - I see! Still higher volume then the stock has seen since 2012.

The higher volume in this case due to contracts expiring and being re-opened etc.
Always worth bookmarking info like this as part of your trading plan so as not to get caught out on the wrong side of a large move.

So option and future holders decided to rollover for Aberdeen. What conclusions can we draw from this? Given the stock has started an uptrend after a significant downtrend maybe we could assume that option and future investors believe the stock will continue to rise so wanted to hold on to the option. My knowledge of options and futures are very basic so I may be barking up the wrong tree!

The stock has taken a beating because of its exposure to China. But judging from past problems in China, it has recovered and probably will recover this time as well. I am dividend oriented investor, so for me the dividend is much more important than the stock price.

On this page you can see that Aberdeen Asset Management has raised their dividends for the last 9 years, which gives them a 9th place, compared to other stocks in the Asset Management dividend stocks among US, Canadian and British stocks. That not bad at all :)
