HI all.

P.s. my pologies for english misstakes, sint my 1st language

Here are few ideas for today:

LRY long above: 45.00, stop under: 44.13, target: 48 areas ST http://www.swingcharts.net/Ivica/2006/07132006lry.jpg
CELG long above: 48.50, stop under: 47.77, target: 50 areas DT http://www.swingcharts.net/Ivica/2006/07132006celg.jpg
SPN long above: 33.59, stop under: 33.10, target: 35 areas DT http://www.swingcharts.net/Ivica/2006/07132006spn.jpg

I'm breakout trader. Using technical analyst. Generaly idea is to buy strong and short weak stock, so I look for continuations. Also can buy weak stock but only if have reversal pattern.

Market commentary:

Good day! Definitely we got confirmation about NASDAQ win in divergence what we had last days. Bear market still in place what can see with strong selling yesterday with volume confirmation.

http://www.swingcharts.net/Ivica/2006/07142006qqqq.jpg

Volume still increase on daily chart and telling us about possibility for more selling today. QQQQ have room for another move down, and that is scenario what I will look for. Looking QQQQ daily chart now all look easy but I like to back on that selling wave last days. I mention several times in room that is very important for trader to recognize risk every moment. When QQQQ selling start that was selling from previous daily high, and first come to 20ma support area. In that time SPY and DIA had much stronger intraday patterns..

http://www.swingcharts.net/Ivica/2006/07142006spy.jpg

SPY formed very nice consolidation under 50ma daily resistance. So in that time was higher risk to take swing short because of QQQQ daily support area and also because of big divergence between QQQQ on one side and SPY and DIA on other side.

http://www.swingcharts.net/Ivica/2006/07142006dia.jpg

Last days all had stronger support areas on daily chart what can easy see above. Now, yesterday we got nice strong selling day down. It was again higher risk because in that time we already had several down days. I mean was higher risk for swing trades (and I’m swing trader mostly). We didn’t get enough consolidation for swing move down. In that case is generally better to stay with day trades opportunities. Now what for today? Market is more extended for shorts. So every new short idea will be faster trade possibility. I think that we have room for selling morning, and that is what I will look for and then I will look for reversal over noon.

Good luck

Ivica

Market commentary:

Good day! At Friday we got another round of selling. Market is again at support area and we already see few strong selling days in row. That brings us in more risky area for new shorts. So every new short setup is high risk trade, and we must count that in risk management. We can still see more selling at Monday as more flush out weak hands but my main look will be on intraday reversal. I will expect that reversal is around and after that strong selling market need rest, for new swing round of selling possibility.

http://www.swingcharts.net/Ivica/2006/07172006qqqq.jpg

Same is in every strong run. After strong run we need rest so that is case what we need now for swing possibility. That mean new swing trades are now high risk trades and after scanning I didn’t see much possibilities what I like
http://www.swingcharts.net/Ivica/2006/07172006spy.jpg

We can expect to see consolidation week, or better weeks for better risk. Important for every trader is to understand risk what have before will take any trade. Ideas what I bring for Monday include that.

http://www.swingcharts.net/Ivica/2006/07172006dia.jpg

So I will trade with small risk until will see market support. If position will go well I will add on first opportunity. Remember that cash is position to, and you must save you capital for better market, and right now is that market action. Also is very important to take only trades what really understand and like. Without that you won’t feel good in them and that can lead to mistakes. So advices for Monday and next week area trade small, trade smart and use small risk. Better market will come and important to not bring yourself in trouble before that. Isn’t every market good for trading.

Good luck
Ivica

Good day! That was really narrow trading day. Good only for scalper and those in “own” way stocks. All day we saw just consolidation and range action mostly. You can see on charts that SPY, QQQQ, DIA stayed in support area, so not much yet from bounce.

http://www.swingcharts.net/Ivica/2006/07182006qqqq.jpg

With this action I will expect possible selling in the morning, just to flush out weak hands and nothing more. Because for more selling we need longer daily rest, or better say for safe break down.

http://www.swingcharts.net/Ivica/2006/07182006spy.jpg

http://www.swingcharts.net/Ivica/2006/07182006dia.jpg

My main occupation not changes. I will look for intraday reversal possibility. I will look for daily bounce. Intraday we can see that on two ways. That can be V bottom after possible morning selling, and also can be 15/30 min rounding action. One of those 2 scenarios will be start of intraday reversal. When we have range action like yesterday I generally wait main break and then consolidation and continuation. Reason for that is possibility of false breaks, and I try to avoid that situation. Those who know me from before know that I’m breakout trader and I look for continuations after consolidations. If anyone will have any question, always can contact me. Also is important to know that we are in earning season and that is important for swing traders to look for open positions. It is risky to stay in trade before announcements. We can use that for gap trades, traps ect what we use generally in room for intraday action.

Good luck

FFIV idea

This is interesting chart for swing possibility. Right now is to early, and mean if will break soon I will took it with smaller lots because I like to see few more days of consolidation. Best is to see daily 20sma as resistance area and bounce from that. One of my favorite setups is 3rd try triangle and that si what I will look for in FFIV. Weekly and monthly chart have room for that move.

Market commentary:

Good day! We seen what we expected and that is at least temporary bottom. So daily support area hold as can see on charts (for now).

http://www.swingcharts.net/Ivica/2006/07192006dia.jpg

I won’t expect swing opportunities right away; we need more rest for that. So I will stick with intraday moves and stocks with own way. For now will expect to see more choppy daily consolidation. Since my style isn’t good for pivot trading I will stay with same risk and that mean smaller risk for now.

Good luck

Market commentary:

Good day! Hope you all had good day yesterday. We got stronger bounce then expected, but that wasn’t bad for open long trades as N, MRX, ISRG, TXU, AVA and SMSC. So I think we had nice day yesterday in line with style what I use. N saw 1st resistance area http://www.swingcharts.net/Ivica/2006/07202006n.jpg . Now is up to trader what will use for exit. I just gave my ideas how I look and what I like to get. Will be to easy when that will be enough, we need to follow market action, stock action and then make decision. MRX day trade saw target area yesterday. Good example what I’m looking for. http://www.swingcharts.net/Ivica/2006/07202006mrx.jpg Had that one on yesterday watch list. This is just example what kind of trades I like to use. Since I’m breakout trader I like to see volume picking up when have setup and yesterday ISRG setup is good example of that: http://www.swingcharts.net/Ivica/2006/07202006isrg.jpg . BIDU wasn’t strong yesterday, but my plan is to stay longer time in that one so I use larger stop for now to, and still like what I see.
Market action was stronger then expected and that can see easily on intraday charts.

http://www.swingcharts.net/Ivica/2006/07202006qqqq.jpg
QQQQ touched 10ma daily resistance area, but what I like to see is volume as prove that we seen bottom for now. We are still in bear market so I won’t be too excited for long side yet. We have too many resistances over head and in bear market, so still caution.

http://www.swingcharts.net/Ivica/2006/07202006spy.jpg
You can see resistance areas on SPY daily chart. Previous support becomes resistance, also 200, 10, 20 ma very close. Same is with DIA daily chart:

http://www.swingcharts.net/Ivica/2006/07202006dia.jpg
Market still has lower lows and lower highs what is definition of bear market. Yesterday strong bounce told us that bears need rest. Also bulls need rest intraday after strong run, and you all know who follow this comments that I need consolidation for opportunity. Intraday we are extended, and as usual after strong move e we need rest, so I will again expect today more pivot opportunities, and less breakout opportunities. So we must preserve yesterday profit for move after consolidation. If anyone will have any questions feel free to contact me.

Good luck

IMPORTANT: Take only opportunities what really like and really understand trading plan. If have question always can ask me, but isn’t good way to be successful if will take trades without understanding. That is very important. Only few trades is enough for successful trader, they don’t need a ton every day. Have that always in your mind.

Market commentary:

Good day! Market had range day after morning selling and back to daily support area. That can see that on daily charts. For now every stronger bounce finished with stronger selling after intraday consolidation.
http://www.swingcharts.net/Ivica/2006/07242006qqqq.jpg

Hope we will see bottom this week but look like for that we need to see strong selling with big volume, and for now that isn’t case.
http://www.swingcharts.net/Ivica/2006/07242006spy.jpg

My bias for next week is short, but will be prepared for bounces. In bear market bounces from lows can be very strong so I will mostly look for that possibility after reversal pattern. After strong selling on daily charts I won’t feel good in swing short trade and I will look more for smaller moves then swings.

Market commentary:

Good day!
After morning gap market futures come up above Friday high and that bring some extra power in yesterday action. Result is strong intraday bounce from daily support area.
http://www.swingcharts.net/Ivica/2006/07252006QQQQ.jpg

That buying program stopped right at resistance area what you can see on yesterday watch list charts. Since QQQQ is weakest then have problem with 1st moving average and that is 10ma.Same situation like last week at Wednesday.
http://www.swingcharts.net/Ivica/2006/07252006SPY.jpg

SPY and DIA both have problems with 20ma on daily chart (green line). I see room for morning move up, but because of earning season and those resistances what I mention above I will use more caution on long side right now. Also you can see on intraday charts (60min) that market need rest for healthy break, and I will again expect consolidation day today. Better action for pivot traders.

Market commentary:

Good day! We saw very whippy intraday action with morning run to intraday high and then strong selling in to low area.. Then consolidation over lunch time, and then again back to daily high for QQQQ. SPY and DIA made new high on that last buying wave.

http://www.swingcharts.net/Ivica/2006/07262006qqqq.jpg

http://www.swingcharts.net/Ivica/2006/07262006spy.jpg

You can see on daily charts that QQQQ right above previous high resistance area and still a lot weaker then others. SPY and DIA come to trend line resistance area. Sound great, if will break it we could see more buying in the market. But I will be a bit caution because we are still in earning season and very turbulent world situation with Middle East.
http://www.swingcharts.net/Ivica/2006/07262006dia.jpg

Also a lot moving average resistances and support on charts. So we are in the middle of moving average forest. My plan will stay same. Will look for own way stocks and for rest will go with intraday market action mostly by using comparison with market action. Other words will as usual look for strong and weak charts.

Good luck

Market commentary:

Good day! Not big changes on daily charts.
http://www.swingcharts.net/Ivica/2006/07272006qqqq.jpg

QQQQ, SPY; and DIA stayed under resistance area what we had yesterday on daily charts.
http://www.swingcharts.net/Ivica/2006/07272006spy.jpg
http://www.swingcharts.net/Ivica/2006/07272006dia.jpg

Intraday we had whippy market action under control of news. I will expect same action for rest of week; also risk management will stay same. Generally better to stay with intraday moves, only if we are in own way stock. So expect mostly same action (whippy) as yesterday, but short possibility because of resistance . Earnings can still effect intraday action. So for my style patience is out and I wait better market for me to trade with full risk. Unfortunately I’m sure that will hard see before September. That mean I will trade smaller then usual, nothing else. Always will be opportunities just must have open eyes.

Good luck

IMPORTANT: Take only opportunities what really like and really understand trading plan. If have question always can ask me, but isn’t good way to be successful if will take trades without understanding. That is very important. Only few trades are enough for successful trader, they don’t need a ton every day. I personally take mostly swing trades. Have that always in your mind.

For those who are interested to see results want to pay attention on risk/reward column.
I’m breakout trader and for me is important to find small risk opportunity with good reward. On that way one target trade will cover few loss trades and that is very important for longer profitability. .

Market commentary:

Good day!
Market resistance is still holding. The QQQQ couldn’t break the 20ma daily resistance area. The SPY and DIA finished under trend and previous high resistance areas.
http://www.swingcharts.net/Ivica/2006/07282006qqqq.jpg

On the QQQQ daily chart you can see the 20ma resistance area and the previous resistance which is support now, the same is with Wednesday's low. The SPY and DIA are above the 20ma and 50ma and that will be the support area now; also the previous high and trend line are still resistance areas.
http://www.swingcharts.net/Ivica/2006/07282006spy.jpg

They are all very close. The daily charts are really a mess. Moving averages are all around; previous resistance is now support, previous highs and trend lines. That can tell us a lot about tomorrow expectations.
http://www.swingcharts.net/Ivica/2006/07282006dia.jpg

For sure it will be harder day for swing traders since I don’t expect a lot opportunities. I believe that we will have the same type day as we had last 2 days. Whippy intraday actions which will be the norm for day and scalp traders. I will continue to follow the market action and I will compare that with any interesting stock charts, and then I will decide if there is a trade opportunity. In this market action I’m very happy with “own way” stocks, and that is my main occupation after I do market scanning.

Good luck trading today!!!!

Ivica

Market commentary:

Good day!
We had a really nice day in the trading room. The watch list setups are also going very well and I think they will continue to do well if the market breaks the over head resistance

http://www.swingcharts.net/Ivica/2006/07312006qqqq.jpg

This move up is whippy because of all those resistances and every day it seems one resistance is broken. The QQQQ had problems with the 20ma on daily chart. At the end of the day it finally closed the day above it.

http://www.swingcharts.net/Ivica/2006/07312006spy.jpg

The SPY and DIA are still in the resistance areas which are clearly visible on the daily charts. My bias for Monday is to continue to move up in the morning. After this initial move I do not know.
http://www.swingcharts.net/Ivica/2006/07312006dia.jpg

I do know that for any new move up the market needs rest (consolidation) on daily charts. Consolidation will bring us a pattern which is important for us to predict any future move. Market action is still effected with earnings and summer trading and because of that we need to use the proper risk.

Good luck trading today!!!!

Ivica

As always I will be in our room just prior to the market open and I am always available via email if you have any questions.

IMPORTANT: Take only opportunities that you really like and understand. Always enter a trade with a trading plan. If you have questions you can always ask me. There is a much greater chance of success in your trading if you understand the trade. That is very important. Only a few trades are enough to be a successful trader. Overtrading is probably the number one reason new traders fail. I personally take mostly swing trades. You must have that always in your mind.
