After reading so many stories here of bab practise on the behalf of spread betting companies.
Who thinks Spread Betting should be Banned or have an independant regulator to keep a tight rien on this leagalised over priced, do what ever they want ( as covered by the small print ) Firms.

Come on people tell it how it is ......

Don't like it - don't use it. Simple. Why over regulate an increasingly regulated industry. Besides, there is already a financial services regulator - why do you think another one would be any better?

And if they tightened things up a bit more, You may end up paying tax.

Only thing I want is true market prices and tight spreads, (if we are talking about improving anything. Those should be improved first).

But they make money on their prices and that's it. Take it or leave it.

what is your experience? What strategy are people using that generate complaints? Is it 80Ppt for 3 pts target?
i have no problems with the sbs i use [cs and ig]

s/bs like any industry get complaints. But is that the basis for banning anything? Energy companies get 25% complaints.

sb firms

well said
take it or leave it !
if its so bad, why do so many people carry on trading? ok they chew newbies up and spit them out, but once you learn your lessons it becomes a different animal. Yes order qoute timing, slippage, true pricing etc needs tightening up, to benefit us all. But sb,s will always find a way around it. Short of working in the city we are all left with this kinda trading unless you have enough bucks to trade directly.

Noooo i love spreadbetting and don't have problems.

Spreadbetting however, isn't for everyone- and is certainly not for people who do not understand how the system works.

I don't think they have everything perfect, but i do think they become scapegoats and take unnecessary blame from incompetant wannabe traders who are CONVINCED they only lost money because the spreadbetting company is acting against them. Come on- get a life- go play poker or roulette instead!

As a committed capitalist I couldn't support the banning of a legitimate industry. I have to say that the act of fraud is already banned, by law, and the answer to every problem, contrary to what so many of our European neighbours think, is not more law.

Now that I have written that, of course I have to remember that many British also think that more laws would be automatically a good thing, and a substantial number of them and the remainder believe that the answer to all problems is more school lessons.

slag sb,s

Exactly !! every would be millionare newby doesnt research what they are doing, they lose a pile then slag the relevant sb with massive resentment, cos it DIDNT GO THEIR WAY. If it was that easy we would all be filthy rich.

This is right i hate spread betting companies.
Not through losses, simply that i see through there game.
Been a direct access trader for 8 years now.

As for the people who earn money from these firms, consider how much one would make if the spread betting firm was ditched and moved to Direct Accsess ?

I cant deniey I occasionally use these firms ( use limmit orders to enter and exit ) to my advantage, but even now platform problems remind me of why i changed.

Like to enter and exit with small amoount of points 5-15 at a large £ per point on news knowing that the firm rearely has the chance to of set these postions in the market before the postion is closed.

Yes they do not like these actions and have requested me not to do this. I wonder why ?

So no resentment here, made some and lossed some.

STILL HATE THEM for there over charging traders and how some make there prices.

If the high of the day was 9200 in the market it could be that the SB only got to 9190-4 and on the flip the low is normally surpassed the markets price.

Answer this then how come most SB companies start there quotes all different and change them round at cirtain times of the day ? And yes I bet you all like this Ehhh ?

Spreadbetting companies are not direct access and should not be compared.

Spreadbetting is different to entering the market directly. It's the nature of the product. But it has benefits. I would never have started trading if i was not able to spreadbet.. i started with £200.

I think the best way to spreadbet is to not scalp the market- why anyone would attempt this with spreadbetting is beyond me. And i'm not surprised the SB companies were not happy with you trading the way you say- what's more you are not acting out of ignorance but understand the situation fully yet still flame them.

Your style of trading obviously suits direct access better. Just because SB doesn't suit you doesn't mean it shouldn't exist. There is merits to both ways of trading. Are you able to take a step back and just see that?

We have so much choice nowadays about how we can trade- that choice is a great thing... and is just that... a CHOICE. So continue to choose and do you own thing and don't try and spoil it for others who have a different preference :).

I'm not sure TT can. He has
http://www.trade2win.com/boards/search.php?searchid=2664548&pp=25&page=4 been banging this drum since October 2007 - and still has not learned. If he could save up enough cash to trade direct he could scalp to his hearts content. SB is fine for many of us who do ok. But if you persist in tilting at windmills at least bear in mind the law of libel and be ready to prove your case. Not forgetting you could possibly put T2W at risk for printing allegations against commercial companies. Hopefully T2W has a standard disclaimer (I have not looked since I do not have a problem with my broker).
It's over a year now since your first rant against SB's.
So, give it a rest and get a life - nobody gives a sh1t anymore:rolleyes:

I used to moan and then opened 2 accounts earlier this year with them.......

Are spread bet companies really all that bad.........?

really?

I'm with Neil on this one,

Give it up dude, you really are on a one man crusade, no one actually gives a fcuk. Get a life, you've had your say, more like a rant, get over it.

You actually admitted to still using them....lol....you taking the p1ss.

You hate them but still use them.........what a joke.

Losers constantly moan, winners just get on with it.

Not moaning simply like to let newbies and others on the right path.

However many do praise these firms business tacktics.

Since 90% trading with Direct Accesss never been more happyer the other 10% SB purely used as a tool to capitalise on short time entry/exit limmit trades with SBs just to satisfy my personell feelings knowing that the ££ gained they would never get the chance to of set these postions resulting in making me very happy.

Has anyone tried trading on two separate computors with tow separate accounts ?
And noticed what happends ?

Try it and find out for your self, the results will speak for them selfs.

Then ask yourself if these companies need tighter regulation ..........

So, in short, your just another client who constantly rants and raves about how bad spread bet companies are but yet still use them..

You're a joke mate.

Go DMA 100% if they are that bad.

90 % DMA and 10 % SB Firm

The jokes on the SB Custermers M8 .

You have admitted this your self that SB DO NOT give the best price/quotes. :)
