I have not been able to access the IG Index website all day. Anyone else experiencing problems?

Yeah thought it was odd, just giving me a DNS server failure network error - it must be my ISP or something, every other site is running fine. A bit of a nuisance as I was planning on shorting nymex crude in the mid 89's, a bit late now.

took ages to log on this morning-had to try a couple of times-same yesterday but ok since--

Gave them a call, told me to reboot machine and install IE settings, we'll see if it works!

That seems to have resolved it, will keep the dealing desk number to hand in future just incase I can't get in. Customer support were helpful which is always nice to see.

when they finally answer the phone!

Hi Gents,

This is my first post. I've not been on the 'introduce yourself' forum yet, but I saw your thread regarding IGI. I found that the most reliable way to access it was to download the Firefox browser, which I now use exclusively for accessing my IGI account.

Good Luck,

TheRev.

My Firefox not working with IGIndex?

I cant access IGIndex through Firefox now, have always used it through firefox but now have to go through IE. Why all of a sudden it changes?

Its only happened today

Dont tell me to uninstall firefox though........

IG seems to work better with IE anyway... it shouldn't but it does. I say this as a Firefox fan. I still use IE for IG.

IG DO recommend using FF.

Just be careful what else you use at the same time with FF and IG.

Too much and the charts and price feed lag.

IGIndex site unavailable

IGIndex site unavailable as for Saturday 18/10/2008 1:30 am, have they gone out of business like Echelon? In this case, all I know is that one should call Financial Services Compensation Scheme - 0207 892 7300 and be ready for a long wait to recover the money (up to 45k£ I believe).

I don't know what drugs your taking but perhaps you would like to look into IG a little more before getting your knickers in a twist, they aint going nowhere!

Site is back online btw, it happens

) I am only being paranoid, but these days better paranoid than sorry! Hey ALL their sites where down yesterday, with no explanation whatsoever...

Are you trying to malign their reputation?

IG is working fine today - I've had no problems with them

I am only saying that ECHELON went bust on Thursday and on Friday night IG sites were down, and we live in a period of bank defaults and widespread failures, so I think it's only NORMAL and HUMAN to be concerned about the safety of your deposits. Not trying to spread panic, just inviting people to avoid putting all their eggs in one nest. This is common wisdom, which people sometimes forget. If you have more than 46K£ in an account - it's the maximum amount currently insured by FSA - you might consider opening multiple accounts with different brokers. This is valid in general, I am not talking about any specific broker. I am sorry if the name of IG has been tarnished, their services are excellent and I have no reason to complain.

Scaremongering tactics by the sounds of it.
