real-time data

Yes - because it is accurate.

If you trade using technical indicators then if the data is garbage the result is garbage.

It all depends on what you want to trade and what indicators you use. The best policy is to thoroughly research the packages available and get some user feed back.

If they offer a free trial period all the better. Ensure the data is accurate and free from gaps and spikes.Alot are Java based.

Again - use the "K.Lab" for a run down on data feeds, brokers etc. etc.
Loads of info. for newbies like yourself. Happy reading ;)

I'd be interested to know whether anyone has found a "cost effective" real time data feed for futures.

eSignal & co seem to want the earth for this service, as do prophet.net. However that may simply be as a result of the high exchange fees, and a common theme throughout all data feed providers.

I'm mainly interested in having the real time data to use in conjunction with CapitalSpreads. Any information on 'budget feeds' greatly appreciated.
