Trading earnings

I know that a lot of traders stay away from earnings because of the high volatility and unpredictability. But I've noticed two things: (this is assuming the earnings/cc is after the close)

1)...

Re: Where do I level 2 and time and sales ticker?

I'm not sure what you are referring to?

Anyway, how reliable is this: Free real time streaming level 2 stock quotes (http://www.aistockcharts.com/level-2-stock-quotes.html)

How do I break a bad trading habit?

I have this mental block from buying in higher than I have sold. For example, I buy XYZ for 10$ and then sell at 11$, but then a month later it is trading around 12$ and I see a good setup, but this...

Re: stupid questions about bonds

Oh .. Sorry. They are US Treasury bonds. I thought that was obvious because I referred to treasury.gov. I'm thinking it might just be as easy as going to my local TD Bank or Chase and cashing them...

Trading morning breakouts

I notice every so often that a really excited stock can form a handle in pre-market and breakout 50 cents to maybe a dollar right after the bell. I'm probably not the first to recognize this...

Re: Where do I level 2 and time and sales ticker?

Yea, I was considering switching to IB. I just didn't like that java chart package they had with the demo account.

Re: Where do I level 2 and time and sales ticker?

Mainly US stocks and ETFs. I use USAA for now. I use td2000 because it's free and I actually do like it a lot better than some of the pay-for products I've demo'd.

Where do I level 2 and time and sales ticker?

I like my chart software fine, but there is no level 2 or time and sales ticker. Any help or insults would be great.

Thanks.

How can I trade silver?

The easiest and best way I could is if I could trade it with a forex account, but I don't live in Europe so that's out of the question.

I've traded it before using a pool account, but then that's...

Re: Magic Beans

That's not what I meant. I wasn't trying to compare the convincing. I'm comparing a stock/future/whatever to magic beans. In fact, magic beans are at least physical, if completely worthless. But...

Magic Beans

Is it just me, or is trading stocks/futures/whatever, sort of like buying some magic beans then convincing the next guy that they're worth multiple times the amount you paid for them?

Re: clueless about options

So, then calls would work in that situation? Yea, that's is why I don't trade options... I tried with this demo account, but was completely lost.

clueless about options

OK, I have no idea what options are. Well, at least I think I don't. I'm going to use an example and I want to know whether it's right or wrong.

Let's say I buy ATVI at 12.1. Now, let's say I...

Re: trading silver in forex

The thing is that I have enough capital to fill a 25k account, but I don't want to risk that much money. Just a few thousand, maybe I won't get rich quick, but I'm not so deluded to think that some...

Why am I, as a US citizen/resident, not allowed to trade XAG? I know it's some rule the SEC made up because they thought it would be fun. But, is there any real rationale behind it? Because it...

Re: Open source expert advisors

I guess there isn't. It's too bad. I think it would be a great idea. People could evaluate different EAs, make them better. Instead of having only a handful of people backtesting, everyone and...

Open source expert advisors

Are there websites that are dedicated to open source EAs? I suspect there isn't because people are greedy and want to hog all the money for themselves and not share anything.
